Or being the smart politician she is, Ms Palin decided that her presence would be a distraction. Going would also tie her in a lot of tea partiers eyes to the GOP Establishment. She is much more effective is she maintenance her position as an outsider to, rather then as part of, the GOP machine.
Sarah is all about doing what is best for the country. She is not a grudge-holding establishment type. On a related note, I got a call from the RNC last night looking for cash. I told the guy I was no longer ever going to donate to the party at large. All of my donations from now on will only be to individual campaigns that I feel best represent my values. I told him the GOP establishment no longer represents the things that I value.
I was disappointed at first but I agree with you after I thought it through.
There is the money shot. It is IMPERATIVE we win both houses, including ousting as many RINO incumbents as we can muster.
After having my butt handed to me in the primary's 3 times, I was going to wait and see. I thought I would not know what I was going to do prior to election day......until Romney shocked the cr@p out of me and chose Ryan.
If Ryan can't shove Romney to the right (I believe he has a good shot), then both houses will. If we have Ryan AND both houses we can most CERTAINLY shove Romney to the right.
He may not like it but tough noogies.
As Rush said "there is one of US on the ticket". When Palin ran in 2008, there wasn't really an US yet...we were just establishing ourselves.
2010 was a swift kick in the jack-a$$....and we were pretty new. We have now had an additional 2 years to "hone".
If you want an audience you've got to put on a show somebody might want to watch. Palin is a draw. Even Richard Nixon's coffin would be a draw compared to the event these guys have planned.
Frankly, the kind of thinking that's going on among the convention organizers is strictly bush league and provincial.
