Romney's brilliant foreign policy choice [ 2nd Former Reagan adviser to compare Mitt to Reagan ]

No doubt the Obama administration is fast at work sharpening their knives to slice and dice Paul Ryan as lacking the foreign policy chops to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

By choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate, Romney has made an inspired choice – on foreign policy grounds!

First, the greatest long-term national security threat the United States faces isn’t China, or Russia, or Al Qaeda. It’s our dwindling economic power. As former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mullin has said many times, “the single, biggest threat to our national security is our debt.”

I’ve worked for three presidents, and the best of them was Ronald Reagan. People used to say Reagan didn’t know enough about foreign affairs to be president. But he knew enough to win the Cold War without firing a shot, which all the diplomats, academics and experts before him had failed to do.

Reagan understood that America’s free market capitalism is the most powerful weapon in our arsenal. And he understood that before using it to defeat the Soviet Empire, he would have to bring it back to health. 2012 is shaping up to be 1980 all over again. Compare Obama’s “you didn’t build that” with Paul Ryan’s call to arms that “We won’t duck the tough issues...we will lead!

“We won’t blame others…we will take responsibility!

“We won’t replace our founding principles…we will reapply them!

By choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate, Romney has crossed the Rubicon into Reagan land. He has wedded himself to the Ryan budget and there is no turning back.

Kathleen Troia “KT” McFarland (born on or around July 24, 1951) was the deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs at The Pentagon from 1982 to 1985 under President Ronald Reagan and speech writer to Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger.

Gary Bauer:

"Like Reagan, Romney is a contrite convert, referring to his past support for Roe as his life’s “defining mistake.”

When challenged about his previous support for abortion in a Republican debate in December, he said “I changed my mind…I’m firmly pro-life…sometimes I’m wrong.”

Mitt Romney displays humility and gratitude in discussing his evolution on abortion. Skeptical pro-lifers should do the same in embracing him.

Former presidential candidate Gary Bauer is president of American Values and chairman of the Campaign for Working Families, and served for 8 years in the administration of President Ronald Reagan, including a stint as Reagan’s domestic policy adviser.

If Romney is the new Ronald Reagan, then the new Ronald Reagan is the new Jimmy Carter, except he’s Mormon and has a Presidential looking chin.

As for the Ryan budget, it looks like Romney won’t even discuss it. And for the budget itself, it looks like it wasn’t as epically conservative as we all first assumed.

That’s a lie, since Romney has flipped from pro-choice to pro-life to pro-choice to pro-life again.

Rick Santorum, not a former Reagan advisor , also compared Mitt to Reagan:

Reagan had two ears and Romney has two ears.
Reagan was the gipper and Romney is the flipper. Not only that but Reagan starts with an “R” and so does Romney.
Wow,they really are simular!

“the single, biggest threat to our national security is our debt.”

That's not going to change regardless of who gets elected in November. Neither Romney or Obama have any plan to make any meaningful dent in the deficit. Even if Romney gets his tax cuts passed and even if they work as expected it'll be a few years before revenue begins to grow. In the mean time trillion dollar deficits will continue.

I will use one of your like minded iberal sites to argue you are wrong:

The Conversion
How, when, and why Mitt Romney changed his mind on abortion.

"When you see the story in its full context, three things become clear. First, this was no flip-flop."

A far, far bigger deal could be made of whatever faith Obama follows, because it sure doesn’t include the welfare of America as a whole.

Last I remember, Mormons don’t want to kill me.

Besides, my favorite author is a Mormon.

Mitt Romney despised Reagan, and left the party when Reagan won the nomination, just like when he and his dad stormed off the convention floor to protest Goldwater winning that nomination.

Left the party, that is amazing.
