Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

You chose to vote for oboma when you failed to vote for Romney. So what are you going to do with your principles when oboma puts his jackboot on your neck and makes you bend to socialism/communism/marxism/sharia law that oboma loves so much, and makes living in this country hell on earth? Too late, too bad, so sad for you. Misplaced principles won't buy you freedom once you've lost it. Ask anyone who has suffered under socialism/communism/marxism/sharia law...learn from them what it is to suffer...and then look over your stated reasons for not voting for Romney...they're lightweight when compared to suffering and loss of the Constitution, liberty and freedom.
Either vote for Romney and get to live for another four years until the 2016 elections and a chance to choose and vote for a Conservative who can win, or know that you gave it up to oboma, and live with that for the rest of your life.

We will defeat Obama because the Left lacks compassion. True compassion would 'teach' a man to fish, not give him one, and then another, and then another...etc. until the shelf runs dry of fish, wherein starvation ensues.
Romney knows capitalism, Obama does not. Ryan knows budgets, Obama does not. Capitalism teaches people how to fish, even those reluctant to learn. Socialism teaches people to wait for a hand-out, even the reluctant. Capitalism teaches fiscal discipline, socialism does not and will ultimately end in bankruptcy.
I care less about who leads our ticket today as I know who leads theirs. I know what awaits if we do not remove this administration. Speculation is a luxury we may not be able to afford if Obama gets a second term. We are fighting the Cold War on our own turf now. We must snuff it out once-and-for-all or the American dream dies.
I would petition you to change the phrase ‘more likely’ to ‘more often’.

What’s funny about this is that you’re screwed no matter which way it goes. Mitt Romney isn’t going to “save” the country, and my vote certainly won’t. In fact, politics of any stripe won’t save it at all. We, as a country, are under divine judgment. This is the real reason that we have the leaders that we do. They represent the shallow, vain and plastic nature of our own souls as a nation. We trust in these self-proclaimed god-men to save us instead of looking to the God in heaven who literally created this nation. This nation was not won on the back of men, but on the back of angels and of God. Nothing except the power of God can explain our origins... and yet we imagine that we can save the country by embracing liars and cheats and plastic idols? All these “Christian” and “patriotic” Americans have lost their first love, and as a result they are being given exactly what they deserive... the ultimate faker, a Kenyan born Muslim or a lying, cheating, dirty good for nothing Republican who is a member of a religious cult that PRETENDS to be Christian... just like the nation!

People have to vote their conscience and I will not deride anyone for honestly doing that...even if I disagree with them and feel that this election is going to determine whether this Republic survives for my kids and grandkids.
With that at stake, the choice becomes very clear. Obama must go, and he must be run out on a rail...and we must have a President, a House and a Senate that will work together to undo the almost irreparable harm he has already done.
I intend to do all in my power to accomplish that.
And this whole thing about FR becoming now one of the premier anti-Mormon sites on the internet is equally sad, IMHO. It only serves to marginalize its effectiveness as a conservative site for all loyal Americans...and a lot of people who are not LDS see it and understand it...and are either departing, or retreating back to lurker mode while “like minded” individuals against millions of loyal Americans take their place here because they have been provided a safe haven.
I am LDS, Jesus Christ is my Savior and my King and Lord. I look forward to His return, and should I not live to see it from this side, then I shall return with Him in the air.

Did you see Romney's religious freedom ad against Obama?? It never mentions Christians or more specifically Catholics but says 'religions'. Are Muslims opposing Obama-care?

You may well have the record, at least so far, for marking the depths to which Romney Republicans will go.
But Romney's a puppet of the GOP-e. Boehner is part of that cadre. By selecting Ryan, the GOP-e has removed the heavy hitting Tea Party chair from the Budget Committee and the powerful Ways and Means committee. Boehner, as House Speaker, is who picks those in the select committees (i.e., the Budget Committee and the Ways and Means). And now Ryan can both be silenced in the House and replacedThat parallels my thoughts when it was announced that Ryan would be the VP pick.
It was to marganalize him, and at the same time make people think that Romney would go along with Ryan's tea party principles. Not by a long shot.
I imagine that Romney's thugs are right now backstabbing Ryan and his values.
And maybe McCain is helping, just like Mitt did with Palin; sending his team to McCain to destroy as much Tea Party ideals and Conservativism as they could.
