Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

How is that a personal attack? He’s quoting Jeff Head.

Hi, nina. Here is actually what happened in Massachusetts, contrary to what certain people will claim. The Massachusetts Supreme Court did it by giving a court order to the legislature.

November 18, 2003: Supreme Court of Massachusetts orders the Legislature to open marriage to same-sex couples in the landmark Goodridge v. Department of Public Health ruling. The Court also rules that if the Legislature fails to do so in 180 days, same-sex couples will be able to marry without any impediment.

May 17, 2004: Same-sex marriage becomes legal in the US state of Massachusetts after the Legislature failed to approve it in the 180 days term given by the state’s Supreme Court.

Thanks, Larry. I do not think I am mistaken on this and I am grateful that others remember it too. I did not indicate that there was an all-out, candidate support campaign by FR or Jim regarding Romney in 2008...but in an effort to deny McCain the nomnation, there were supportive things said and a desire to see him beat Mccain. I have the highest respect forr Jim and always have. I do not agree with him on this about Romney, but I understand, given the man's former record, why it is so. And, Kevmo, read ansel's posts. it is not the quote of me that is the attack, it is this individual's continual assertion that I am a liar by indicating that I recollect Jim 's feeling Rommney would have been better than McCain back in 2008. And this poster continues to do that despite my very sincere effort to explain to them that there was no lie...no intent to mischaracterize anything...and they know it. Yet they continue to openly and publically call me dishonest, a liar, to point at my "Mormon Dishonesty," whatever that is...but clearly now a bigoted reference to my religion.

That's the attack Larry is referring to.

Your post is false. Romney is a gun-grabbing, liberal judge appointing, abortionist/homosexualist, big government statist and grandpappy of ObamaCare. I did not support him then, and I do not support him now. Never will!!

Oh, Elsie, every time I think you've set an unbreakable world record for effrontery, you retire the trophy one more time.

Putting words in Jesus' mouth - "I approve this message" - in support of your rambling, semi coherent BS is something that I can't imagine any believing Christian having the chutzpah to do.

If Jesus exists, I sure hope he read your post and exclaimed "Who do you think you are, beeyotch??

Jeff Head, you are a liar, and you are repeating it for 2 days now in trying to legitimize Mitt Romney.

Look at post 2583 and apologize.

I see. Ansel, there is no lie here on this issue. You should withdraw that accusation.

You think his belief system is heretical. I get that. But sometimes taking it too far with an exaggerated accusation is bad for everyone.

...I will not vote for Romney.

(I won't be, either...voting for Virgil Goode)

I don’t see Romney as much of an improvement over Obama. I don’t think either should be POTUS

(Agreed)

At least, by voting third party, it “may” (if enough will help) deny either man more than 40% of the vote. They cannot claim a mandate in that case.

I wish that would be true; I don't see more than 6% who would vote third party...and even that is a major departure from previous elections if that were to occur...

My "purple state" comment was meant to say, "OK, even when we look thru the lens of the pragmatic utilitarian political relativist voter, the ONLY possible 'stampede' by way of fear approach that they could even begin to justify are the swing states. The fact that they don't apply even their own pragmatic worldview to the state-by-state electoral process tells me that when they say 'ABO' -- it's only a euphemism for 'pro-Romney.' If they were TRUE 'ABO' voters, they wouldn't be so defensive about people putting forth third-party alternatives to Obama in the blue and red states...And that the 'purple' states should be the only ones effecting their uneasyness."

Look at the quote in post 1576, Jeff Head made a firm, clear statement claiming that JR was a 2008 Romney supporter, and when called on it, he keeps repeating it in a softer tone.

The claim is absurd, ridiculous, an obviously untrue statement, no rational person could ever think such a thing.

I have disagreements with Mormonism, wish more Christians would drop the Oprah all paths crap we have adopted as we liberalize the faith along with the nation. We are suffering because of it.

It is a related matter, but as far as politics, Mitt's record speaks volumes, I don't care what the man “says” on his web site and such. So politically Romney has major issues before one even gets to his faith.

Now if he was conservative I go with this guidance, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, the friend of my enemy is someone I can do without.

You mean JR calling Romney a “truly evil” man 7 days before Romney dropped out?

To: jvnvch
I beg your pardon, but I haven’t seen him redeem himself to the thousands and thousands of innocent children that were murdered in the womb on his watch and due to his pro-active support of Planned Parenthood and unwavering defense and preservation of Roe v Wade, abortion and the culture of death. It takes a truly evil man to do what he did.

Wrong. Romney, the liberal progressive homosexualist who boasted he’d be better for “gay rights” than Ted Kennedy and who still loves the idea today that homosexuals should be able to lead our scout troops astray and serve openly in our military caved in without even fighting because he favored the ruling!! The judges are not our RULERS!! They do not control the legislature or the executive branch!! Romney was, is and always will be a big government leftist POS!! FUMR!!

They (LDS) do?

Articles of Faith (LDS)

# 8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

Joseph Smith, called "The Book of Mormon" the most perfect book ever written.

Makes you wonder why LDS even use the Bible as they teach it's not translated correctly and the Book of Mormon is perfect.

I personally don't care if Mitt Romney worships Ronald McDonald as long as he upholds the Constitution and promotes peace, prosperity and entrepreneurship at home.

My confidence level about him doing that is pretty low, however.

Jeff submitted his recollection and it appears he’s in error with respect to JimRob’s recollection (and yours). I can see why you said what you said, and why he says what he says.

Right now he and Lucido are probably scouring the archives for 2008 because their own recollection differs. But I think you ‘won’ this round in this little skirmish.

I prefer to think the best of all involved, that there’s a simple misrememberance at the heart of it.

Me: if Paul Ryan announced tomorrow that he was a "god in embryo"

Your follow-up Q: If he did, what possible effect would that have on his ability to govern the country?

It boils down to (a) character and (b) discernment.

If a man is so deluded about his own identity, and flunks THE MOST basic discernment about himself as well as other major blocks of voters (Another example, Lds theology teaches Christians are "apostates"), then we know that gullibility to deception doesn't end there.

If a POTUS flunks basic religious discernment in foreign policy issues, like anything to do with Islam, that could readily spell unnecessary problems developing.

But -- worst of all -- we know that in these times crisis after crisis can hit the world and the US. THE BEST resource a POTUS has is the eternal resources of THE sovereign god. No president ever "rules" apart from a sovereign lord, who rules the world. If the POTUS is praying to an unknown "god" -- somebody who got the "god job" as a man...especially in a crisis situation...why would THE true God respond to that?

Just think of a scenario of the TV program "24" where they had the "president" on that show dealing with terrorist threats, etc...I'm sorry, but one of THE problems with the Democrats -- and it probably was shown most acutely in the immediate aftermath of the New Orleans area hurricane -- is that their "savior" and their "security" stops at the govt & Supreme Court.

With a president who embraces a "I am god" mentality, we get the same "ceiling."

The "character" issues that also intersects here is a POTUS who thinks he is divine = the most tremendous pride, arrogance, and hubris possible. It is no "anathema" to THE God -- that the prophet Isaiah indicates this was THE ORIGINAL SIN in heaven that got the angel, Lucifer permanently booted and led to the expulsion of up to 1/3rd of angels who joined the mutiny ... (you can read that in Isaiah 14...I think around verses 13-16)

Well, he does not uphold the constitution. He’s a gun grabbing, abortionist/homosexualist, global warming pushing, socialist healthcare advocating, big government statist who doesn’t give a damn about the declaration, the constitution or our unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He’s more concerned about unconstitutionally expanding government power and upholding the liberal/progressive status quo!!
