Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Really, you say this was NEVER a site where fiscal conservatives were active and welcome?
***Where did I say that? Arguing against something that someone did not say is a straw argument.

You seem to be focused on fiscal conservatism to the detriment of social conservatism. Just like there are supposedly no prefixes in the republican party, there are no prefixes in conservatism. JimRob has said it dozens of times, we’re conservative... period. What he means by that is Fiscal AND Social conservative. You can’t have one without the other. Lately we see a lot of fiscons trying to throw socon principles under the bus. You strike me as one of those types. Let us all know if I got that wrong.

How can you EVER affect change- even if you are trying to point out to someone the flaws you see in their faith, when all you do is publicly ridicule their religion and so embarrassingly point out the flaws?

Indeed!!

I don’t understand what the people here have done to deserve this treatment.

I know!

Like Rush; I'm a lovable fuzzball, too; but how do I get treated?

I really don’t understand it. They tell us that we’re a tiny minority, but they are so vested in calling us names and trying to “shame” us into voting for Romney.

If we’re such a tiny minority, why can’t they just ignore us?

Support him for US Senator or no?

Never heard of him. If he wants support, he should work on that.

He's not in Texas so I can't vote for him.. even if I'd ever heard of him.

The point is that your hanging some kind of test on the support (or not) of this guy is ate-up with the dumbass. Folks who never heard of your favorite local politician are just pretty darn evil, huh?

Get a grip.

I'm sure you get your jollies by seeing all these good, smart, conservative freepers fleeing from this site you POS.

I thought that "personal attacks" weren't allowed. Not that I really care what you think. Just saying'.

I really have no party. I would describe myself as a rather typical Tea Party religious conservative. The truth is that my kind were driven from the GOP by Bill Buckley back in 1992, when he canned Buchanan, Sobran, Francis, et al.

The really frustrating thing for me the past 20 years was pitiful spectacle of my fellow conservatives panting around the GOP table waiting for the Country Club gang to throw them some scraps. At least enough to get them out to vote.

Chiang Kai Shek famously said that "the Japanese are a disease of the skin, the (Chinese) Communists are a disease of the heart." And he was right. The Japanese occupation was doomed from the get-go, because they were foreigners, and over time China always got rid of its foreign occupiers. But that's not true for an internal enemy like the Chicoms.

It's the same here. We conservatives need to WAKE UP and realize that Karl Rove ("the GOP is the party of Big Government"), Mitt Romney and all that they represent, are our most lethal enemy. We need a full-on purge of the Party. And if it means four more years fighting the Battle of the Wilderness, then so be it.

I can only speak for myself. But I note that Jim Robinson made it very, very clear for years now that he would never support Romney. The Country Club Set ignored the warning. Now we conservatives need to make good on the threat, or lose all credibility within the GOP.

It would be far better for Obama to win, at least in the long run.

I'm voting Libertarian for President, GOP for all others, providing that they're conservatives.

I don’t follow your hypothetical very well.

1. Which candidate should a Jewish conservative vote for? A or B?
***Whichever is the most conservative.

2. Which candidate is the Mormon? A or B?
***Dunno and don’t care.

Here’s my non hypothetical:
I lived in Santa Barbara a few years back. Our conservative congressman did a pretty good job. Along came this republican dude with lots of money, named Huffington. he spent more on this congressional primary race than any other in history. He unseated the congressman. When the time came to vote, I could not pull the lever for this POS and wrote in the former congressman. Straight Republican ticket. Years later, Huffington admitted to being gay, his wife divorced him and started Huffington Post, and do-nothing congressman Huffington basically did more damage to conservatism than any democrat ever could. The seat has been firmly in the hands of a librul ever since. Writing in the conservative republican over that POS was the honorable thing to do. What do you think was the most honorable thing for a conservative to do?

Well said exit82, very well said and needs repeating!

Jim, we got half a loaf this time. We almost got none at all.

The Romney/Ryan ticket is getting my vote because I will not have any part in allowing the traitor Obama to stay in the White House.

And I have no problem justifying my vote to God. God makes leaders rise and He makes leaders fall; He can use any vessel He chooses to get rid of evil leaders.

All I know is, we have a stark choice staring us in the eyes.

Vote for good or vote for evil. Vote for a better future for your kids and grandchildren or vote for chains.

I won’t be sitting this one out on any principle. Obama has to go, and that is Job One.

The rest comes as it will, and we will work through that then.

We have 86 days to save America, and people need to quit kvetching and get on board.

Every Republican candidate was excoriated on this board for faults real and imagined over the past year. There was not one that could withstand the scrutiny of the Free Republic protologists’ exam. It was ridiculous.

We get where you personally stand. But where you stand is not where the battle is taking place. The battle is taking place across the land, and it involves choosing who gets to be in the White House come January 20, 2013.

I’ll choose the Mormon and the Roman Catholic, neither of which whose “religion” matches my own, because of the choice allowed me, they will have the best chance of upholding their oath of office, warts and all.

In 40 years of voting, I have always had to choose between flawed candidates. This is no different. On November 7th, win or lose, I would love to help start a party that will be a home for Conservatives, and make the GOP go the way of the Whigs.

But until Election Day on November 6th,the GOP is the only vehicle that allows the chance for Obama to be kicked out on his skinny little keister. So that is the vehicle I will use.

All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. I refuse to do nothing.

Worse than Mitt’s and the GOP’s faults is Obama’s treason. That must be dealt with first. Otherwise you won’t have to worry about FreeRepublic any longer. It will cease to exist under the Kenyan’s regime.

The circular firing squad needs to stop. The enemy isn’t within our camp—he is outside. Now.

It’s time we take the battle to him.

Sorry pal, Hitler Partyw the National Socialist Democratic Workers Party (NSDAP) NAZI Party, was legitimately elected to parliment in 1930 and won 18% of the seats in the Parliament. In 1932 Hitler became a German citizen when he was appointed as an administrator for the State of Brunswick to the Reichstag in Berlin. He had renounced his Austrian citizenship seven years before.

He then ran for President anainst Hidenburgh in 1932 elections, after receiving almost forty percent of the votes forcing a run off election. He lost to Hidenburgh in the a run off election.

The absence of an effective government prompted two influential politicians, Franz von Papen and Alfred Hugenberg, along with several other industrialists and businessmen, to write a letter to von Hindenburg. The signers urged Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as leader of a government “independent from parliamentary parties”, which could turn into a movement that would “enrapture millions of people”.

Hindenburg reluctantly agreed to appoint Hitler as chancellor after two further parliamentary elections—in July and November 1932—had not resulted in the formation of a majority government. Hitler was to head a short-lived coalition government formed by the NSDAP and Hugenberg’s party, the German National People’s Party (DNVP). On January 30, 1933 the new cabinet was sworn in during a brief and simple ceremony in Hindenburg’s office. The NSDAP held three of the eleven posts: Hitler was elected and named chancellor. Hermann Goring was named minister without portfolio, and Wilhelm Frick was appointed minister of the interior.

So even though he never held a popular elected office, he was very legitimately and LEGALLY elected by the coalition government through a very legal appointment by the President.

He then went on to great fame, or at least infamy, as leader of the German Third Reich, you may have heard of him.

It was underhanded and dirty like most politics but it was LEGAl and LEGITIMATE every step of the way.

With all due sincere respect, I do not see “debate” going on here.

I see the indictment of a people based on their religious beliefs.

If that is pointed at me, I don't do that.

If anyone is doing that, they are out of line IMO

The indictment is of the false belief system that is the LDS, not the individuals.

Great post Jeff! It is embarrassing. I have sent many people here and now I am getting flack from them and they are asking me why I directed them to a kooky, bigoted fringe site. All I can say is it didn't use to be like that. Maybe it did before I came but I didn't see it. I don't care what Romney's religion is. He has his, I have mine, I care about doing something about this HORRIBLE economy before it's too late. Sure, I care about social issues too, but this election the economy should be front and center. I don't think Romney will be as liberal as he was in his state. We get him in and hold his feet to the fire.

Now that’s a good prayer! Maybe he will change his mind and admit the errors of his previous religion. Here’s a leader who did and who came to acknowledge God, the One Who Jesus said is His Father:

Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom [men must] tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He [is] the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom [is the one] which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion [shall endure] to the end. He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Or are you too a planted, Mormon hating shill?

G*d may have planted you, but he also planted weeds and I chop them down every week when I mow my lawn.

(So, I'm a "weed"...eh??)

How, again, are you different in character than Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, who went around referencing others as "weeds"???

On blacks, immigrants and indigents:
"...human weeds,' 'reckless breeders,' 'spawning... human beings who never should have been born." Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people
Source: Margaret Sanger: Founder of Planned Parenthood : In Her Own Words

Now, while it's true that the Bible at one point does seemingly compare us to "blades of grass" over our short lifespans...

Your vow to destroy me doesn't come across very Christ-like (your reference to the weeds & blades of grass that you said, "I chop them down every week when I mow my lawn.")

Once again, you need to repent...you've now broken TWO of the 10 commandments just in your last few posts...bearing false witness...and your vow to destroy me -- mow me down.

YOU are a friggin nut-case.

(I'm not the one goin' round threatening to mow you down like weeds or blades of grass -- like you did me -- am I?)

Well, you appear to be beyond simple political logic...so I'll appeal to others as they consider who is really "wacky":

Now...just imagine...having such a Wacky belief guy in the WH...with EVERY liberal media outlet for four LONG years, day in, drip...drip...drip...highlighting the beliefs of the "wacky one" -- the one "brand" who Republicans decided to entrust their eternal reputation with...

Ah...I can see it now...Letterman monologues...Kimmel monologues...SNL skits...viral Youtubes...etc.

Think about that: A Romney presidency for four years on top of what we've already gone thru (2007 & part of 2008; plus 2011-2012)...almost six years of Mormonism this, and Mormonism that...And then, if, miraculously, Romney won re-election in 2016...you could read, hear about Mormonism DAILY for the next 8+ years...

And then the Mormon church, thinking this is THEIR "Mormon moment" opportunity to expend a $1Billion in marketing & advertising -- their "point of arrival" -- will make EVERYTHING all about Mormonism, anyway!!!

And the PR & Marketing will draw responses from Mormonism's opponents on the right, and the left.

(And all this...whether a FREEPER or two or three would e'er e'en post anything the MSM ever did on Mormonism again)

Imagine that!

Enjoy your daily Mormon percolated coffee...courtesy of the MSM...

...drip, drip, drip...

for the next 4-8+ years! ...

It won't be "waterboarding"...it'll be "Mormon coffee"boarding!!!!

The Dems & MSM will successfully re-brand the GoP as the wacky voters who put the wacky guy in the wacky White House!!!

Jim, you can see the result of bigoted lunatic behavior on this thread. People are entitled to their individual opinions, but how long are you going to let this anti-Mormon seminar posting go on? At a minimum it distracts everyone from the topic at hand; in reality is disgraces the conservative movement at large and your website in particular.

Put these nuts in the Religion forum so at least the rest of us don't have to wade through a bunch of nuttery to read/talk actual politics.
