Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
Considering I have has several of these mental giants tell me that RR would be an outspoken Romney supporter, I don’t think they will believe the truth.
Don’t know what fetish these people have to seek self humiliation online, but it must have a name.

Right. And Romney’s role, should he win, is nothing more than to consolidate Obama’s gains.

If Romney loses, the blood is on the hands of the GOP-e who wouldn't run a Conservative candidate that could beat Obama.

I agree he’s a party loyalist (duh he’s chair of the Budget committee! A Michelle Bachman would never be given that gig). But he’s to the right of T-Paw/Romney/Bush/Cheney and not a double-edged sword like her unnamed majesty. Compared to past VPs and VP picks (an ocean of SUCK) this is a good one.
I’m not a rube, I am excited if you will, not because I have any particular faith in Ryan (I have none in ANY politco, period, kill all humans, Reagan only get’s a B/B+) but because I think he helps with the goal of removing Osama and if he’s elected won’t be pulling Romney to the left.

A third party is not going to win at the national level. That’s a certainty. It will, however, take away from electoral votes from only one of two possible candidates who CAN win, Romney or Obama. I won’t contribute to the plan of putting a Marxist back into the White House because the GOP-e has picked another crappy statist with an “R” after his name for whom I must vote.
Now, if the Democrat was Zell Miller, I’d gladly vote third party because Zell would probably win and he’d be 90% better than Romney, but not with the certainty that the “D” who’s a Marxist will win with the same strategy.

I don’t see that he’s saying he’ll do whatever, and then consult scripture later. He said, he’ll do whatever he is able, and then as we are told (bid) by the scriptures, to “wait upon the Lord...”

Again, I didn’t ask you, I asked Jeff to clarify because only he knows what he was saying. It sounded like he will act, do what he can, and then consult scripture, which is totally backward from what the bible teaches, and what too many people rely on. It’s up there with the idea of “God helps those who help themselves” which is no where in scripture and antithetical to it. We’re supposed to wait upon the Lord and then act. Not vice-a-versa. If more Christians waited upon the Lord before taking things in their own hands, I think we’d have a different world.

Romney isn't Reagan, but he sure as hell isn't Obama. Hell, Reagan isn't the Reagan most of us think he was.
I voted Gingrich in the primary and sent him $50 I didn't have. HE LOST. So did every other ‘conservative of the week’. THEY ALL LOST TO ROMNEY! What is done is done! Nobody forced all the TRUE CONSERVATIVES to sit on their asses and split their votes. That is how it worked out.
Now when Romney actually chooses a Conservative, we are all RINO’s and IDIOTS because we decided that four more years of Obama is probably a bad thing, even if we have to push Romney to a more centrist or conservative position, yeah, good thinking. You musta’ gone to one o’ dem fancy Ivory League Skools to think like that!
