In a Saturday morning appearance on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to the announcement of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romneys running mate choice, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.
Krauthammer said that the choice changed the race by shifting it from a referendum on Obama to an idea-driven race powered by the young, Kennedy-esque Ryan.
I think the picture sort of changes the dynamics of the race, Krauthammer said. Up until now it was Romney running as the guy who could do a better job I know how to fix the economy. The other guy is a failure. But it was a star-led choice, hes a better technocrat. When you look at the two there are two things different than Ryans presence on the platform. The first is youth. I mean, hes the future. He has a youthful look. If you like Kennedy-esque boyish enthusiasm and energy.

Yeah, but this time they don't have the POS Romney and his mittbots carrying their water to trash the VP pick for four years.
That’s a catchy phrase!
And I thought Democrats were the “waahh-waahh” crybaby bunch. Romney was picked by the voters, fair and square. Why do conservatives expect a moderate party to nominate a conservative at the top of the ticket?
Flush the RINO’s and you have a tiny powerless fringe party. We conservatives only make up about 20% of the electorate.
Most people who self-identify as conservative, aren’t!
Conservatives must have a long-range, incremental view. It worked very well for the Socialists....
The VP pick isn’t important to most voters anyway. What’s important is the job Ryan can do if Romney is elected. He will be a great influence on Romney when it comes to fiscal policy.
Will Ryan being VP and the obamacare mandates be enough to get a majority of RC's to vote for Romney? I know biden is RC, but he's not a consideration for Pres., whereas Ryan is young, dynamic and the intellectual leader of the conservative wing of the Pub party.
If a majority of RC's vote for Romney/Ryan it will probably swing the election.
I think so. It changed my mind.
Candy Crowley is a tiny voice in a growing wilderness. My congressional district has more voters than CNN has viewers.
Let's pray a majority of them see the error of making deals with the devil.
I think what you have to keep in mind is how the Tea Party will make the Senate more conservative and how Ryan changes the discussion in the WH if Romney/Ryan wins. Making Ryan VP is a clear statement of what Romney plans to replace obamacare with and how he intends to reform entitlements. Given the choice between a radical muslim and a moderate mormon I really think the choice is easy, especially since the moderate mormon just picked a real conservative with a plan as VP.
LOL!
They are letting personal hatred - and misplaced confidence in their own infinite judgment/knowledge, second only to God- and sometimes even higher than - come before the good of our nation. end of story.
I think it may have changed my mind as well. It seems to me that this could be very good for conservatives. If Romney/Ryan wins obamacare gets replaced with market based solutions and entitlements start to get reformed so they might actually survive. In 8 years the presumptive nominee would be Ryan.
I've liked Ryan for a long time. He has been offering real solutions that don't expand the control of govt over us and he is solid on social issues.
Your 'godless Romney' chant is getting old.
May I ask who are you to decide if Romney is 'godless' or not? You'd be hard put to find a people who, as a group, are happier, follow the gospel, honestly tithe of both money and time, are clean living and look to Jesus as their Savior, and to God the Father.
If that's 'godless' - we need more such 'godless' people.
In addition, you won't find Mormon's spouting such vitriol against other religions. It's un Christian.
forgive?
+1
It doesn’t matter what Rommney expresses or doesn’t express. The VP choice makes no difference either. The votes have already been counted (calculated) by Soros’ vote counting service. We now just have to go thru the motions of having an election, to make it legitimate. Obama wins with about 10 electoral votes.
There are lots of hard working people that are decent citizens that don't know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I consider them godless as well. Yoy may, or may not not know that the mormon Jesus is not the same as the Jesus Christ Christians worship.
I think your points about mormons are pretty good, but don't forget the other great mormons like Harry Reid.
I saw your mea culpa, but just wanted to add some info. From my perspective I'm not electing a religious leader. I would prefer a Christian, but if that's not the case I won't discount that candidate, especially when the alternative is a radical muslim.
Up until the VP pick I've been unsure if I would vote, but with a solid conservative as VP I feel better about Romney and will vote for him.
Candy Crowley said this Republican ticket is a death wish ticket.
It is, Death to Liberals, Death to democrats,
Death to socialists!
And, while I’m at it Death to Islam!
RR 2012 It’s not Ronald Reagan but it will do.
...and if Romney had picked Rubio, she would've said he was pandering to the hispanic vote - you know, like Obama pandering to the moron vote by picking Biden.
