President wants taxpayers to pick up larger family tab
President Obama thinks his wife should be paid for the privilege of serving as first lady. Speaking at a campaign event in Denver on Wednesday, Mr. Obama invoked Mrs. Obama’s plight to make a point about equal pay for equal work. “I want to make sure that when she’s working, she is getting paid the same as men,” he said. “I’ve got to say, first ladies right now don’t, even though that’s a tough job.” Poor Michelle, we feel her pain.
If Mr. Obama was joking, it was in poor taste, especially with so many women struggling in hard economic times. First ladies have never been given a paycheck, but they certainly benefit from their privileged circumstances. Michelle basks in the reflected fame of her powerful husband; she lives rent-free in the most exclusive address in the world; she has chefs, maids, drivers and other servants at her beck and call 24 hours a day. It might be a “tough job,” but she is assisted by a personal staff of more than 20 people, who are paid a collective salary of over $1.5 million. Those perks are forms of compensation.
Mrs. Obama lives the good life and she lets everyone know it. While not known for being a fashion leader in the style of Jackie Kennedy, she has come under fire for flaunting her expensive tastes in times of economic trouble. Her latest offense was showing up in London at a pre-Olympics party wearing a jacket costing $6,800. That’s 10 times the median weekly earnings for full-time working women.

Well Obozo did relax the welfare requirement that you don’t need to work to steal, I mean take, oops borrow money from the chinese to expand the welfare rolls which put the real working Americans picking up the tab.

IIRC about two weeks after Obozo’s inauguration, both of them showed up at an elementary school because they were bored in the White House. One little black girl told Moochelle that she would like to be First Lady one day. Instead of offering encouragement, Lady M replied, “It doesn’t pay much.” So, it’s always been about the money.
I have the feeling that the girls are not being taught to appreciate what a privilege and honor it is to live in the White House.
So, just for background info, how much are men paid to scowl at white people and travel a lot on shopping trips?
Carter was a terrible president and I was overjoyed when he wasn't reelected but low and behold, he didn't go away.
Carter still hasn't gone away and if anything Obama will hold on longer and be a bigger pain in the a$$.

Well, certainly WE should not have to pay her.
The lady is not employed by us.
Nor did we vote for her, nor did we hire her.
Nor is there any public payroll job for being a Presidential spouse (and Presidents, while usually married, are not required to be).
All any public paycheck for this nice lady (without a job) would be is yet another BHO welfare give-away to someone who is not working (even though she ostensibly has some employable job skills).
Come to think on it, the proposal to pay her for a non-existent job is True To Form for this administration.
And... is itself a very good reason we can all Hope now for some real Change in November.
But if we are gonna be taxed to pay the lady, then I submit that the dog Bo (which he didn’t want, for obvious reasons) should be paid, too, as the dog is far more useful to the taxpayers .. or at least is in a Hazardous Duty position, given BHO’s culinary tastes.
