MARC FABER: If I Had To Vote For Obama Or Romney, I'd Shoot Myself
Henry Blodget
Aug. 8, 2012, 11:43 AM
Marc Faber, the famous investor and strategist, says that neither candidate in the upcoming U.S. Presidential election is worth voting for, at least if the goal is fixing the economy.
In fact, says Faber, the Thailand-based author of the Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, if you put a gun to his head and told him to pick a candidate to vote for, he'd say, "shoot."
Why is Faber so negative on the two candidates?
Because he thinks neither Barack Obama nor Mitt Romney will have the balls to do what it takes to get the economy back on track, which, in his opinion, is significantly cut government spending AND modestly raise taxes. Rather, he thinks, both candidates will just focus on remaining popular.
Given that America will almost certainly choose one of these two candidates to be its next President, what is Faber's outlook for the U.S. economy?
Continued crappy growth.
Faber's outlook for the rest of the world, meanwhile, is even less encouraging. Europe is already in a recession, he says, and Asia's growth has peaked and is starting to decline.
Interestingly, Faber is not running away from stocks as a result of this dour view. Rather, he is starting to buy some stocks in Europe, because the valuations have gotten so slammed that he now finds the risk/reward profile attractive. And, with almost every government on earth trying to print its way out from under its huge debt load, Faber still remains a big fan of gold.

I first took my oath on 7 July 1964 and as far as I am concerned, it is binding on me as long as I live or until I join Mr. Faber in another country (FAT CHANCE!).
Romney was not my pick but I believe the nation will be better off with Romney than Obama.
You disagree..I respect your right to do so.
And you will be so proud to know the key part you had in converting the Republic to a Peoples Republic.
Bravo!
I believe Romney is better than Obama for our national survival.
He wasn’t my pick..but he has my vote nevertheless.
We may even be able to convince Romney to edge right on some issues..I don’t see swaying Obama .
I believe Obama is a Marxist and does not value America.
I believe he is trying to destroy it. He is on his way to doing so.
I am passionate about getting Obama and his administration OUT.
This seems to be difficult for me to explain as so few can get it. I believe it is wrong for me (personally) to vote for Romney. That does not stop me from preferring him to Obama in the hopes that he is not as bad for the country as I believe him to be. On here, I will discuss this as I am not going to sway anyone. In “real life” I will refrain from answering those who ask me how they should vote.
I doubt anyone is swayed by my opinion..I just express it.
I respect everyone’s right to their own opinions and their right to vote their own conscience.
Truth is painful and the only “out” out there is no out at all. This predicament calls for a brawl from the inside, which means standing on the ground you have and not giving an inch where you stand. We leave that caving and clawing and wishful thinking and compromising and giving in and giving up to you folks, whose squish brought us exactly to this point.
It’s not my fault your guy is a progressive - a polite term used among communists about communists.
It does seem the only viable choice Faber offers.
It doesn’t matter what Obamalini wants. It is simply going to happen, and it is a gift from past generations of liberals and feckless “conservatives”. When it happens we will either put an end to “progressism” by force, if necessary, or we will walk into the gulag like good “Bob Michel Republicans”.
Surely, no one wants it to get to that point, achilles. After the moochbots (ows), I have *no* doubt that 0 *will* try to cram anything he pleases down our throats in the most, destructive, violent way possible. We didn’t pre-empt them in 2006 & we didn’t pre-empt him in 2008. We can’t afford to lose an inch, imho. Not this time.
“Im voting to rid this country of a Marxist imposter wholl destroy the Republic in four more years. I took an oath in 1977 and was never relieved from my responsibilities, as far as Im aware. You feel pure by voting for some third party nobody or writing-in a name, but those of us voting for the major party candidate are adults who know there are only two choices. Youll feel principaled and Ill know I tried to save the country. Okay?”
Yeah, voting for one of two socialists is really going to save the country. Fact is, we have a spiritual problem, not a White House problem. This country is under judgment and that is why we have the “choices” we have. Your pathetic little vote for these scumbags isn’t going to change anything. The sooner you grapple and accept that, the sooner you can move on to what is important.
Of course no one wants it to head in that direction, but if Obamalini wins he will probably start to resemble Hugo Chavez. If he loses, Obama’s handlers will try to send OWS and the rest of the progressive and moocher-nation into the streets.
In the interim, anyone who resists Obamalini’s fascist aspirations will be labelled a “terrorist”.
How do they say EAT SH*T where you live, newbie?
So you want a competent socialist as President as opposed to an incompetent?
