This plea agreement resolves the federal charges, such as murder and attempted murder of federal employees, that the state cannot bring. There remain viable state charges that have not been brought, such as murder of the 9 year old. The Constitution says that you can’t be tried twice for the same crime. It doesn’t say that you can’t be tried twice concerning the same “event.”. This creep, like the one in Aurora, CO - racked up multiple crimes for the same event - a mass shooting - and he could be tried for them all.

That mades sense, thanks. I didn’t realize that the state was precluded from charging the murders of the federal employees. That being the case, they are separate crimes.
