No description at YouTube, so my write up:
CNN's Brianna Kielar spoke with Joe Soptic, a former steelworker featured in a new pro-Obama super PAC ad who was laid off in 2001 when Bain Capital closed the company he had worked at for a reported 30 years. Without directly accusing Soptic and Priorities USA of being despicable liars, CNN lets its reporting call them out as despicable liars.
Soptic told CNN his wife had her own health insurance at her own job when he was laid off. Soptic said his wife quit her job a year or two later due to an unspecified injury, thereby losing her own health insurance. But Soptic still blames her death in 2006 from a brief bout with cancer due to his lack of family health insurance because he was laid off in 2001. In the Priorities USA ad, Soptic says it was a "short time later" from when he was laid off to when his wife got sick and died. CNN reports it was actually five years.
Good for CNN.
It is nice to know that there is water so vile and polluted, that even CNN won’t carry it.
Cobra is there for a reason for those people who value those reasons.
Great ‘slip up’ from CNN :>)
What?! This story is going to be complete garbage by the time they get done.
When did Romney leave bain?
Soptic is a poor excuse for a man.
Joe Soptic pimped his dead wife. Typical rat.
The lies piled up in the ad are despicable and besmirch the memory of the steelworker's wife.
Hmmmmm, is CNN trying to turn around it continuing slide in the ratings? Telling the truth is a step in the right direction.
I just heard this on Mark Levin show. WOWOWOWOWOW!!!
I swear Clinton must be pissing himself laughing at these clowns...
Today Rush posed the question: how should Romney respond to this kind of baloney?
The answer is: Don’t continue the narrative. Respond with something that turns the accusation back on Obama.
Romney stopped his day-to-day oversight at Bain Capital in 1999 when he left to run the Salt Lake City Olympics, though he officially remained CEO until 2002. Bain Capital shut down GST Steel in 2001, costing Soptic his job.
According to Mr. Soptic, his wife received her primary insurance through her employer a local thrift store called Savers and retained it even after his layoff. Soptic's policy through GST Steel was her secondary coverage.
In 2002, Mitt Romney formally left Bain. Sometime in 2002 or 2003, Mr. Soptic says his wife injured her rotator cuff and was forced to leave her job. As a result she lost her health insurance coverage and Mr. Soptic's new job as a janitor did not provide coverage for his spouse.
It was a few years later, in 2006, that Ilyona Soptic went to the hospital with symptoms of pneumonia. She was diagnosed with stage four cancer and passed away just days later.
You can always count on OBots to lie.
There is some fun going on on twitter right now for those that want to join. #OctoberObamaAds
