Liz Trotta: When Ann Romney showed up at the Olympics equestrian competition in London's Greenwich Park last week, the media scrum around her would lead some to believe that Michael Phelps had dropped in.
Mrs. Romney was there to watch her horse, Rafalca, compete in dressage, once the sport of ancient kings. The uninitiated call it 'horse ballet.' Rafalca, a German-bred mare, didn't miss a pirouette as her patron cheered and pronounced the performance constant and elegant.
Some would say not unlike her mistress, Ann Romney, is not to be taken lightly. Perhaps that's why President Obama's political operatives, most of them women of the left, have the knives out for her, casting the potential first lady of the United States as a modern day Marie Antoinette, out of touch with common folk.
How about all those summer races up on Cape Code? Some time ago I attended one and actually saw a Kennedy rider fall off her horse. It was big news, but laced with the extra sensitivity the media usually employees when dealing with Knights and ladies in the court of Camelot.

the kennedy’s are GONE. they were and aren’t the only ones who were “allowed” to enjoy their lives and their sports. Anne Romney will do well... she is a nice lady with a beautiful family and she has struggled with health issues that were serious.
She has a lot going for her and can ignore the boneheads who have nothing beter to do

I heard Liz on Fox this morning and I thought she made a fine point...that this whole deal about Ann’s horse and her riding is double standard...the libs took her to the woodshed over her blouse and now her horse...YET it was hunkydory for Jackie to have horses and and be seen riding..and then the blouse that was said to be 1K what a scandal but for Princess Moochelle, a 7K jacket was just stunning and fine..
Look back at how Nancy R was blasted for her wardrobe by the libs...
The designers most likely GIVE these fancy duds to the 1st Lady ( in our case now the First Frump) and the press coverage and advert notice is worth the price of the already over priced garment. She was castigating the press for taking the knives out on conservative women yet dismissing the same as just fine for the libs.
I agree with you. If he thinks being a gentleman about the cheap shots aimed at him and just answers with a hehehe well.....and doesn’t give it the “ Well there he goes again..” kind of response he won’t do well..He cannot come off as a sweet, gentler, kinder Republican against this low brow street fighter or he will be sliced to ribbons.

Ah Jackie Kennedy was the First Lady and wife of the president of the United States...
Ann Romney is only a private citizen of the United States and nobody...
If she is anxious for the limelight and jealous of poor Jackie who endure quite a lot in her lifetime, maybe Ann needs to run for office or become a movie star or get a job or do something else useful...
Right now shes just a rich mans old trophy wife...

BTW Her serious health issues dont seem to have prevented her from travelling around rthe world and hanging out for days at the Olympics watching her horsie tapdance......
Most women are home in bed or in the hospital...
