I would like to address an issue that is apparently of concern to a significant number of people. In my Ask Fred column, several people have expressed concern (some have been adamant and angry) that Marco Rubio should not be selected as the Vice Presidential nominee because he would not be eligible to be President, if the need arose. They contend that at least one of his parents were required at the time of his birth to have been a citizen for him to fulfill the constitutional requirement of eligibility, even though he was born on American soil.

Then the idiots in the Texas Republican Party have no principles, are colluders and collaborators with the evil we have running our country.
Butter, you know as well as I that I am not talking solely about the state of Texas. I am talking about nation wide. Had there been any doubt ever, and there may have been, the GOP would have had experts look at that birth certificate immediately and had it not been valid, they would have gone public. They have had over four years to do so and they well might have done so. The fact they did not go public with the results tells us everything we need to know. Texas is no different than any other state and there have been numerous Republican Senators and congresscritters from all over the country who have said they believe President Obama is an American and is eligible to be President. If I have heard them, I know you have. And I do believe they did look at the certificate. And reached that conclusion. They would have been elated to find otherwise, butter. As always, thank you for the debate. Have a good evening.
Well, he’s right, you did drop names - not by saying “Billy Bob Smith” but by referencing your contact with the higher up or inner circles of the Republicans in Texas.
Too bad it doesnt cause you to think in a rational manner.

I am so sorry that was the perception. Trust me. That is nothing to be impressed by. I am certainly not impressed. I think I gave the wrong impression and for that I do apologize. I do not “drop names.” If I did, it would reflect badly on me. And I regret having given that impression. How many times did I use the word impression? A bit redundant wasn’t I? Ooops..to quote my Gov.
Because you do not agree with me does not mean I am not rational. If I am, you have an awful lot of GOP Senators and congresscritters who are not rational.....wait. Never mind. But, you disagree with me, yet I do not find you to be irrationable. We just disagree.
Pure unadulterated B$.
Okies should know better since most of the dumb ones left in the Great Okie March.
It had everything to do with circumventing the Constitution, and useful idiots are doing their best to help.
Do you know how many times legislation has been introduced and shot down, that would do exactly what you want to happen in this case?
Go back to your neighborhood Mr Rogers surely they miss their idiot.
Most like Rubio except for his closet open borders amnesty bent. He is not eligible unless you really want to cr@p all over the Constitution, and all the bodies of the Patriots that have died defending it.
Here are 6 Supreme Court cases that say otherwise. All specifically outline the requirement for the parents to be citizens at the time of birth to be a NBC.
Venus, 12 U.S. 8 Cranch 253 253 (1814)
Shanks v DuPont, 28 U.S. 3 Pet. 242 242 (1830)
Dred Scott v Sandford, 60 U.S. 393 (1857)
Minor v Happersett, 88 U.S. 162 (1875)
United States v Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898)
Perkins v. Elg, 307 U.S. 325 (1939)

Correct, in the case Rubio, his parents were legal residents therefore he is natural born in accordance with the 14th Amendment.
Dewhurst supporters?
Some were...Some were not.
You are just full of it. The SR 151 was an attempt to substitute opinion for law, since no one challenged that cr@p we did not even look into Obama's citizenship. Thank you. You can have Sebelius back now.
Well.... according to Lawrence Sellin, one of the candidates for the R nomination said it’s not being addressed because it goes far, far deeper than anybody knows. IOW, it is too serious an issue to touch. Kinda worthy of mockery for the same reason that a ticking time bomb is worthy of mockery, or a crazy man shooting a gun in a theater... really crazy for people to address it, ya know...
And according to Mike Zullo, after conducting an investigation (and there are other sources as well, including probably at least one of the people you mentioned from “conservative” media), the media people won’t touch it because they’ve been told that their careers would be over and they and their families’ lives are questionable. That tends to dampen a person’s willingness to stick their neck out... Rush Limbaugh having a bomb threat on the same day that Andrew Breitbart hit the ground - which was on the same day as Arpaio revealed at a press conference that he would be starting a criminal investigation of forgery and fraud - might have something to do with his silence. Beck left Fox because Fox wouldn’t protect his under-staffers from death threats they received, beginning with this issue and extending on to other subjects as well (see, appeasing the beast doesn’t stop him but only emboldens him).
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.
The judges... well, we’ve got two sharia rulings out of this so far (one in GA and one in NJ) (ruling by “judge’s knowledge” rather than by any evidence whatsoever) so you tell me what’s their deal. Are you going to say nothing is wrong when judges resort to sharia rulings on this issue? Are you going to appeal to their authority as being the end of the matter, in the classic logical fallacy of “arguing from authority”?
Now you tell me why Sheriff Joe is on this issue, and Larry Klayman, and General Paul Vallely, and Lt Col Terry Lakin, and Lord Christopher Monckton.... and I could go on but I think you get the picture. And don’t even bother to do the “No True Scotsman” logical fallacy because we’re not gonna buy it.
I realize you are talking about “crackpot interpretations of the law”, but I think you really mean the whole eligibility issue since I’ve seen you ridicule the whole issue and why would the National Right to Life, NRA, Rush Limbaugh, etc be experts on Constitutional law regarding the definition of “natural born citizen”?
The taunt “You are alone” sounds very, very familiar in a Biblical sense. That sentiment has been used before...
Jesus died alone.
I guess we know what that makes Him in your estimation.
And if that doesnt’ show you the flaw in your own argument then you are beyond being helped by anybody but the One you logically have to call a loser now.
There now it makes perfect sense.
“Because you do not agree with me does not mean I am not rational. If I am, you have an awful lot of GOP Senators and congresscritters who are not rational.....wait.”
They’re not rational or irrational. They are cowards. There is enough evidence out there that Obama’s natural born Citizenship is questionable to investigate it. Yet the GOP and all the others you mentioned in earlier posts have chosen to ignore it, instead of airing it out in a civil manner.
0bama and his minions have been very successful, with your assistance, in creating a climate of fear - fear of being called racists; fear of being ridiculed. And, rather than girding their loins when there is a legitimate reason to investigate, and demanding a complete investigation or “ruling” on the constitutional definition of natural born Citizen, they have tucked their collective tails between their collective legs and sat whimpering in silence.
When this all comes out - and it WILL come out - History will judge these people badly.
A person born in a country of parentS who are citizens of that country can be nothing but a natural born Citizen. Anything else is a legal construct and pretty much negates the “natural” in natural born Citizen.
Law IS opinion.
Judges have opinions.
Juries have opinions.
Your opinion is part of a very slim minority.
