Reporters accompanying presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney yelled questions at Romney about his so-called mistakes and gaffes on his foreign trip as the candidate left the Polish Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw today.
The barrage prompted one of Romney's press aides, Rick Gorka, to lose his cool at reporters. Of course, those reporters are making the aide's profanity the story and not their own incredible rudeness.
A transcript of the incident via CNN's Jim Acosta in Warsaw:
CNN: "Governor Romney are you concerned about some of the mishaps of your trip?
NYT: "Governor Romney do you have a statement for the Palestinians?
Washington Post: "What about your gaffes?
NYT: "Governor Romney do you feel that your gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?"
CNN: "Governor Romney just a few questions sir, you haven't taken but three questions on this trip from the press!
Gorka: "Show some respect"
NYT: "We haven't had another chance to ask a question..."
Gorka: "Kiss my ass. This is a Holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect."
Acosta added: Moments later, Gorka told Jonathan Martin, a reporter for Politico, to "shove it." About a half-hour later, the aide called reporters to apologize.
The news media would be crucified if they treated Barack Obama this way (they never would, of course.) They should be crucified for their infantile, insulting behavior.

You may think that Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won’t desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or practice fiscal irresponsibility. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the current regime has gotten us into. We won’t like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney’s background can do it. But, on the minus side, He never was a “Community Organizer”, never took drugs or smoked pot, never got drunk, did not associate with communists or terrorists, nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US.

Once the words about the Olympics security unreadiness were out of his mouth, Romney should never have recanted them. They were supportable and based on the Brit’s own assessment.
So far as Jerusalem is concerned, that is simply history and geography.
His attitude should be, “Go read a history book.”
The press really doesn’t want a discussion of things that are supportable when they are defended rationally.
But they love blood in the water when a candidate backpedals and buys their meme that a gaffe has occurred.
Obama’s “you didn’t build that” had such traction because he was clearly wrong.
Romney’s “unprepared with security” and “jerusalem” were not gaffes. He should have stood his ground.
Never Apologize or accept guilt for a wrongful act unless it is absolutely necessary. Niccolo Machiavelli had similar advice back in the 1400’s.
