Chick-Fil-A Brand Approval Rating Plummets
Towelroad ^ | July 28 2012 | A. Towleroad

The controversy caused by Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy's interview, in which he said the company was "guilty as charged" for making large donations to anti-gay causes, has not been good for the restaurant's brand, GLAAD reports:

Chick-Fil-A and the Top National QSR Sector were measured with YouGov BrandIndex's Index score, the company's flagship brand health measurement.

The Index score is an average of key scores measuring quality, impression, value, reputation, satisfaction and willingness to recommend. All measurements were filtered for adults 18+ who have eaten fast food in the past month. The Top National QSR sector average includes such brands as Pizza Hut, Arby's, Papa John's, Domino's, Taco Bell, KFC, McDonald's, Burger King, and Long John Silver's.

Chick-fil-A's index score has dropped 26 points since Dan Cathy's interview:

YouGov BrandIndex measurement scores range from 100 to -100 and are compiled by subtracting negative feedback from positive. A zero score means equal positive and negative feedback.

On July 16th, the day the Baptist Press published its Dan Cathy interview, Chick-Fil-A's Index score was 65, a very substantial 19 points above the Top National QSR Sector average score that day of 46.

Four days later, Chick-Fil-A had fallen to 47 score, three points below the Top National QSR Sector average score of 50. This past Wednesday, Chick-Fil-A had a 39 score compared to the Top National QSR Sector average score of 43.

I’m going to stick my neck out, and call BS on this one as Chick-Fil-A’s locally are crammed with customers which to me says the restaurants approval rating is still up there, and this article is perhaps Leftist wishful thinking.

Agreed. I'm also calling this BS and occupation propaganda. I have never been to CFA until this past Saturday. The placed was packed. Past another one 20 miles away in the opposite direction today and discovered the same.

Your post sounds more entertaining than anything released by Hollywood over the last several decades.

You should try to pitch it to a producer!

I looked at the YouGov site. Looks pretty worthless. LGBT is one of their main categories.

The only “brand approval ratings” that matter are sales. Bet those are going through the roof.

Ya think? :-)

I went twice last week. Would have gone a 3rd time, except that I couldn't get near the place. I'd not have been able to get in-and-out within my hour lunch.

Friend of mine used to manage one. She told me that "a significant portion" of her business was *not* from walk-ups (people coming into the restaurant). It was from catering and supplying 100's of sandwiches daily to places like the local hospital.

I wish I could invest in one. These places have a license to print money.

Closet one to me is 27 miles south; I’m headed there with an SUV loaded w/ Conservative friends, tomorrow, since we’ll never get near the place on Wed Aug 1st “Chik-Fil-A Day”. Heck, we might just get extra meals tomorrow to take along, and go anyway on Wed!

I’ve never eaten at a Chick-Fil-A before. The nearest one is 40 miles away. But my approval rating has gone from 0 to 100 since that interview.

I'm 40 miles from the nearest Chick-fil-A too, and I will be making the 40 mile drive to get dinner on Wednesday!

I wonder how many Catholics Baptists Evangelicals and Muslims were polled by GLAAD

That logic would stop the homos dead in their tracks. Until they change the subject, and attack you. Typical mentally-ill lib-dem tactics.

Your mistake was taking your political enemies propaganda seriously.

I went to CFA for lunch today. There was no place to sit so I had to go through the drive through which was pretty long. People seem to love CFA more than ever.

This poll is BS.

I would hope that I would be judged by the totality and tone of my postings, my comments, and my responses at Free Republic, all of which have been sincere. ( a total of 130 threads and 987 replies).

Please don't be defensive and thanks for the post.

This has been useful to study the occupations agitprop and what is coming. I hope they keep it up and not just for the CFA sales increase. I want them to keep poking the sleeping bear prior to the election.

I am sure they are, and it is certain that this was a temporary dip brought on by the gay brouha. Their brand approval ratings will spike up in August, at which point GlAAd will fall silent.

“I wonder how many Catholics Baptists Evangelicals and Muslims were polled by GLAAD.”

I would bet zero. Most of their polls and research are biased toward liberal and pro-gay perspectives.

As I stated in other threads, this will set a record @ Chick-Fil-A.

Thanks very much for that. And I have also been wanting them to keep poking the slumbering giant. Especially because they seem totally unaware that they are doing so.

Actually, I didn’t take it seriously; I posted this more or less humorously - and as always, to facilitate FReeper discussion.

I believe CFA’s approval and sales will spike in August. :-)

Seems like a good time for Christians to make a buck on the fudge-packing moonbats. Watch that stock. JMHO
