It is at best odd to whine about Chik-Fil-A for taking a position supported by a significant majority of Americans. What is un-American is for a government official to use the power of the government to punish an individual or a company for holding and following views shared by the majority. The mayors of Boston and Chicago are petty tyrants who are abusing their power in violation of the First Amendment. In the battle between good and evil, they chose unwisely.
I disagree with the bolded part. What is un-American is for a government official to use the power of the government to punish an official or a company for holding and following views, period. Doesn't matter if those views are shared by the majority, a minority, or just that official or conpany. It would be just as un-American for a government official to do the same thing to, say, JC Penny or Target.
