Watching the start of the Olympics in London......Anyone else?
There is something said for retiring in grace instead of hanging around forever.
“If you are from the Beatles era he will make you feel old.”
If you are from the Beatles era you ARE old. Sorry.
At 50, I am one of the youngsters of the “Beatles era” group.
The Beatles, that was that band Paul McCartney was in before he was in Wings, right?
I”ve given up. What the heck is the spittoon the women are carryin?
The Odummer commercial sent me to the Rangers-Redsox game. I’ll tune back in for the United States to march in.
Woo Hoo! Plug for the Gators!!!
There are 37 Gators at the Olympics.
Yeah.
Or as I was amused once to hear a kid say (back in the early 80s) when the subject of the Beatles came up:
“Wasn’t that Paul McCartney’s old band?”
I LOL’d.
Spoiler alert. They form a part of the eventual Olympic Flame cauldron.
No Pink Floyd? No Monte Python? No Stephen Hawking? The opening parts looked promising, but it got cheesy and bad very quickly. Oh, apparently WWII didn’t happen either. The WWI tribute was nice though.
Had you watched the torch lighting, all would have been revealed.
The torch lighting was stunning.
YOU TELL ‘EM BOB!!!!
I agree with that.
I’m curious to know if the Iraqi woman waving their flag is
actually living in Iraq?
NBC: “Oh, Israel’s here...time for a commercial.”
This disdain and disrespect for Isreal is palpable....and I can not even come up with words bad enough to describe my hatred for both NBC and Obammy!
Kenya - Obama’s home country.
There was an agreed upon rule, since the Germans were there, to not mention the war. ;)
Also there is not one mention of the British Empire. Half of the nations there were former colonies!
Kenya just marched by. Three of Obama’s half brothers led the pack, one carrying a forged birth certificate.
Brian Williams...no not the NBC guy...the Canadian sports commentator emphatically stated during the ceremony that the IOC was wrong to not honour the slain Israeli athletes. He stated they died as Olympians and should have been honoured. He also mentioned the governor general of Canada also asked the IOC to honour them prior to the opening. He is there in the stadium tonight representing Canada.
Huh?
As far as most PC people are concerned, Germans were the problem for WWI, also. So what’s the difference?
I tuned out whatever was going to be said about Cuba, so I don’t recall.
