Billy Wilder followed up "Some Like it Hot" with an absolutely bitter comedy-drama about infidelity. "The Apartment" from 1960 possesses one of the great emotional trips in all of film. Fred MacMurray was never better than when he was playing a total SOB.

Charles Williams scored an American film for once, and his song from the film complements it perfectly.
