With a little help from his friends, former congressman Virgil Goode has taken a key step toward getting his name on Novembers presidential ballot in Virginia, submitting more than 14,000 signatures to the State Board of Elections....
..Goode was a Democrat for much of his career, then became an Independent and finally a Republican for his last six years on Capitol Hill. Now Goode is getting assistance from yet another party, the Independent Greens, whose members have collected thousands of signatures for him....
...Virgil supports rail, and thats our big issue and hes with us on that, said Carey Campbell, a member of the Independent Greens executive committee. Weve had for many years a good relationship with the Constitution Party folks....

I doubt he clears the hurdle. Two of them actually. He needs 10,000 total valid signatures, and he needs at least 400 valid signatures from each congressional district. 14,000 signatures does not provide a lot of leeway to meet them.
And after Romney gets blown out here, you’ll wish you stood up for your conscience.
how sad of you and stupid too.....wasting your precious vote...
It’s a tough law but no ‘scam’.
They knew what the law required- the law, not the Party- and they didn’t do it.
Now, it has occured to me that state parties often collect petition signatures for all their candidates.
I expect the Republican Party of Virginia will do so in the future- no use wasting a primary!
And yes, that was a creative way for the Green Party to help their candidate.
I assume you and I disagree on whom their candidate is LOL!
No you can't. Your enemy is radical liberalism. You are supporting radical liberal M instead of radical liberal O.
I am supporting CONSERVATIVE Candidate Goode.
You are supporting:
gay couples
gay adoption
gays in the military
romneycare
free abortions in romneycare
greater government revenue takings/fees/fines/asssessments
pro-choice
gun control
crony/social corporatism
illegal amnesty
hiring illegals
“While Mitt was a liberal Republican governor, Goode was a Liberal Democrat congressman.”
Actually as a Dem, he was well to the right of Romney. Take a look at his rating.
I find it usually helps to at least skim the facts before spouting off.
Yep, a real lesson that sinks ALL of us!
I’m sick to death of the romney haters....just childish..
hence the clearing of posters, who in their right mind
wants to fight with this garbage?
There’s still plenty of time to get more and they intend to.
The deadline is not until Aug 24 I believe.
Ok....moochelle....calm down. We know you’re voting for your beard (or is it the other way around) and not Romney.
He has until Aug 24, so he has plenty of time to submit more.
He is also a longtime congressman from VA and a member of the VA Bar, a licensed lawyer in the state.
I’ve no doubt he knows the system inside out. He’ll get his signatures.
Besides, his dad was a long time state senator from Virginia. The name Goode is known around the state.
Yeah whatever.
You and your fellow plantation dwellers can share the blame among yourselves.
Me, I’m going to go to say a heartfelt prayer for America and then I’m going to sleep like a baby.
“Goode is just playing the Perot tactic. All it does is make a goode narcissist get full of himself. “
Yeah....why would anyone anyone who despises both gun grabbing socialist turds the parties nominated want to run for any other reason. I seriously doubt that he just opposes the Obamney record/agenda.
Good, then I'll vote for Goode because Romney doesn't have a snowball's chance in California.
how any one would want another four years of obama is plain stupid...
so we will vote ROMNEY here in Pennsylvania...and obama is getting very scared of US...so is his chum Eric Holder...
maybe when you watch Romney and Hussein debate, you’ll change your mind???
Remember he will NOT have his sidekick the TELEPROMTER...
“No you can’t. Your enemy is radical liberalism. You are supporting radical liberal M instead of radical liberal O.”

If “radical liberalism” is the enemy, why would you take an action that will help the biggest leftist radical we’ve ever seen win a second term?
You seriously need to put the bong down. Do you realize how utterly warped your post is? Obama as PRESIDENT has already done the things you cite on your list, and yet you use these as a warning about Romney?? Are you freaking serious? You hold more contempt for what Romney “might” do, rather than what Obama has already done to our nation? You can seriously post something like this without even mentioning Obama? To top your insanity off, you’re also going to take actions that will help Obama win a second term. Sorry, but this is beyond sick!
We need to vote for Romney....otherwise the left leaning appeasement GOP losership won’t have any top cover.
How do you expect them to enact their own version of Romneycare without some help from Pam Bondi?
Maybe if he gets elected they caln all wring their hands and pass a Mass-style assault weapons ban.
Think of all the great things (based upon Romney’s record of accomplishment) that McConnell, Boehnor, McCain, and Romney can accomplish working together with a GOP controlled Congress.
Maybe they can get Senator Rubio to spearhead some serious immigration reform? That would be outstanding!
Just think...Romney will be able to sail all of his great ideas (....you know the one’s Zero took credit for...auto bailouts, gay marriage, socialized healthcare) right through a Principled GOP congress. There’s no way they could pass that stuff with Zero as President.
This is going to be great. Mitt Romney is going to save America!
FUMR....and that’s a twoforone!
>And Goode was a democrat, then an independant, THEN a republican, and now the greenies are helping him...
Yeah, sounds like a really trust-worthy guy. Real consistent.<
Congressman Goode has always been a conservative - he finally saw the writing on the wall with the Democrats, so he was independent for quite some time. The local GOP never fielded a challenger to him because he is a conservative.
I’ve no idea what “Independent Greens” are, but the article says they tend to agree with the Constitution party.
