With a little help from his friends, former congressman Virgil Goode has taken a key step toward getting his name on Novembers presidential ballot in Virginia, submitting more than 14,000 signatures to the State Board of Elections....
..Goode was a Democrat for much of his career, then became an Independent and finally a Republican for his last six years on Capitol Hill. Now Goode is getting assistance from yet another party, the Independent Greens, whose members have collected thousands of signatures for him....
...Virgil supports rail, and thats our big issue and hes with us on that, said Carey Campbell, a member of the Independent Greens executive committee. Weve had for many years a good relationship with the Constitution Party folks....

These people remind me of a man sliding down a hill and heading for a precipice. He could save himself if he reaches out and grabs the vines growing near the edge, but decides not to because they could be poison ivy.
Hardly, Skippy ;)
When you get around to showing in detail why men like John Q Adams and Ronald Reagan were wrong about the need to stand on one’s principles, then you will have won our little battle. I do not remember RR or JQA ever making exceptions to their statements just because they lost their resolve and got skeered. Quite the contrary.
So since you’ve never once been able to back up your ABO position with anything BUT fear of Obama, as your post history TOTALLY makes clear, standing in your widdle pillow fort and claiming victory over my ‘idiot’ self seems less than credible.
FEAR...it’s all you have to justify the total abandonment of principle. And without principle, the very thing that makes conservatives and people of integrity who and what they are, one has nothing. Surrendering to a political party/man that represents the polar opposite of what America stands for is the height of cowardice. And all the internet tough guys can rant and rave but without principle there can be no honor. And with no honor there can be no America.
Try following that clear and fact based logic. You, as always, cannot honestly refute it.
There is still time to dump him at the convention and replace him with someone who has the record of achievement to get the job done... Gov. Scott Walker.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Hey, I’m down for it, but, it’s not gonna happen.
Here we are again. Another Goode thread and the willard apologists are legion.
You know every 4 years we have a Presidential election and every four years we have the sunshine conservatives telling us why we have to vote for whatever slug the gop dredges up. Or Life As We Know It Will End. And every time the candidate is worse. Its a suckers game that conservatives are foolish to play.
And nothing says “conservatives lose” like supporting a gop presidential candidate who is hostile to conservatives.
“I hope the Romney campaign kneecaps this ass.”
With what? Their man-purses?
“When Goode was a democrat, during the Zell Miller conservative Democrat days, his voting record was far more conservative than the acceptable democrat, Zell Miller, and it was more conservative than ALL but a handful of Republicans.”
Tsk, tsk. Don’t let facts get in the way here.
willard=hatch=lugar=snowe=collins=bloomberg=mccain
“I think so too, though his effect in Virginia worries me a little.”
If you’re a willard supporter, it should. Virgil is well known in Virginia.
Kneecaps his Ass....
So that bulge isn’t his wallet?
“Why dont you go post about Texans, you sure as fire dont know squat about Virginian Virgil Goode.”
It’s no good trying to explain to a non-Virginian how your typical west-side Virginia democrat of 20 years ago was more conservative than your average republican today.
“No, you are not - you are supporting full fledged, irreversible Marxism. You are no more supporting conservatism than members of the CPUSA.”
So someone who doesn’t support the pro-abort, anti-gun willard is suddenly supporting marxism?
Maybe you should lay off the gop koolaid for a bit.
“I hear that the Democrats are registering not only the dead, but dogs and cats and illegals in that state.”
Probably less so than other so-called battleground states. You need a social security number to register to vote in Virginia as well as ID to cast a ballot.
“Guess you cant support your chosen candidate with anything more than He aint Obama.
Problem is, there really ISN’T anything more to willard. You can’t blame the willard-bots too much. They’re trying to play poker while holding a pair of 3’s.
“Obama gets a second term, at least these guys showed Romney a thing or two!”
Nothing bad that happens to willard is ever his fault. Trying to “teach” him something is a waste of time. I vote for or against a candidate based on their conservatism. Kind of a weird and novel concept to suggest doing something like that on a conservative website, huh?
Here’s the thing though. His record shows that ‘pair of 3’s” description to be totally accurate. The ABO types know that as well as we do. But though they know it, they are fully willing to jump down the throat of conservatives and spout unsupportable garbage like “A vote for X is a vote for Obama”, that “WE” are marxists and all the rest.
The fact that they are doing this knowing full well the above proves that either they want the abortion, homosexualized marriage/military, and the litany of non-conservative and wholly unAmerican crap that Romney’s record is made up of, or they are simply the stupidest morons to ever cowboy a keyboard.
It’s one or the other. They rant, rave and even threaten. But how else can a rational mind characterize a boatload of self-styled ‘conservatives’ demanding the rest of us fall in line and vote for the antithesis of everything that makes a conservative “conservative” and makes America “America?”
At best they are a bit of each. Neither of which shows intelligence, logic, rationality, a spine, or the sense God gave a dung beetle.
And they are as always free to prove me wrong by explaining in detail and without the fear of Obama excuse how it is that a conservative can vote for a liberal, D or R, without abandoning his conservative beliefs to do so. Contrary to their assertions that they have, not a single one to date has, nor can/will they provide a link to any post on FR doing so.
My suggestion to every sane freeper who encounters the “That’s been answered” mantra is to demand proof of said answer and DO NOT let the person claiming such get away by ducking the issue. You will find that the ‘integrity’ of said posters will be on full display.
Which is to say ‘none’.
Come to think of it, you’re right. Other than the “OH GOD IF YOU DON’T VOTE FOR HIM OBAMA WINS!! DOGS SLEEPING WITH CATS, APOCALYPSE BY NEXT WEDNESDAY!! mantra, I’ve never seen one of them parse a cogent argument as to why willard should be supported. It’s really weird. And disquieting. I think that’ll be something I start asking about in my posts.
Get ready to catch hell ;) Not a single ABOer to my knowledge has ever given a reason to vote ‘for’ MR. Only that they will do so to get obama out.
Isn’t it funny that the same folks mocked Kerry and Obama and their supporters for running on a platform of “He ain’t Bush” but now that they themselves are voting for a guy because ‘He ain’t Obama’ that SUDDENLY!!! it’s a perfectly ‘conservative’ thing to do?
“Funny” as in “The absolute height of hypocrisy” style “Funny”. It still is as vapid a reason to cast a vote as when the libs did it though.
I am also waiting for one of these people to come up with an example of a single founding father or other actual American patriot who ever said/believed/practiced abandoning their principles to make a better America.
Since not one ever did, it would follow, by ABOer ‘logic’ that the FF, Reagan et all were ‘idiots’, ‘marxists’, unAmerican’ and otherwise trying to destroy the country.
GOOOOOOODDDDD Luck proving that one.
I’ve been catching hell here for so long I’ve acquired a taste for it. It’s good for the digestion.
Thanks FRiend for the words of wisdom. I’ll be using some of them. And shamelessly failing to give you credit.
;-)
No credit wanting or deserved ;) I am doing nothing more than filtering through the BS and stating tried and true positions, ideas and logic since the dawn of conservative thought. IE, I didn’t invent any of this.
But by all means, spread it far and wide. It seems too many in the conservative movement either forgot this stuff or just got lazy in their thinking.
Of course, there are those who jumped ship and now willingly fight against us, while claiming to be something their words and actions clearly show they are not...
