Cantor Urges Tolerance On Gays, Muslims
BuzzFeed ^ | July 19 2012 | John Stanton

Posted on 07/23/2012 10:01:08 PM PDT by BurningOak

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor Thursday urged his party, and the nation, to guard against intolerance on issues ranging from gay marriage to the role of Muslims in the government, arguing the country’s diversity of opinion and acceptance are part of America’s basic fabric.

“There can’t be some kind of monolithic opinion handed down from the government or a political party. I don’t think we’re monolithic beings,” Cantor, a Virginia Republican, said in an interview with BuzzFeed.

Just what I was telling Hub tonight in a discussion about how the Republicans have disappointed us. True conservatives have no where to go. You’re right........his just may be the time for a third party.

“I’ve always said we need to be a party of inclusion not exclusion,” Cantor said.

I see you're showing people the door, Eric. Understood

When are you all going to get smart. Third Party is lose lose lose party. Clean up the party you already got. You don’t get rid of a car because it gets a flat tire or even two flat tires, you get new tires.

Just this past Lord’s day (Sunday, July22) we read and studied in the book of Judges:

“In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25)

Then in Romans 1:21:
“Because that when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts was darkened.”

“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.” (Proverbs 16:6)

HOW WONDERFUL IT WOULD BE IF WE AS A NATION (A NATION UNDER GOD) WOULD AGAIN FEAR GOD AND DEPART FROM EVIL!

This November, I will be voting for a Democrat for the first time in my memory. I don’t know who his opponent is, but whoever is running against Cantor is getting my vote.

I figure that it will be easier to fire the Dem. in two years than it will be to get rid of Cantor after he has two more years to dig his trench a little deeper.

I’m very tolerant of gay people. What does that have to do with marriage?

My thoughts exactly. I worked in the arts for 40+ years. If you weren't tolerant of gay people, you couldn't get through the next 10 minutes. However, it is because of my tolerance and friendship that I learned a great deal more than I ever really wanted to about gay behaviors and the childhood traumas of most of the gays I knew; many GLBT's are very emotional and will tell you anything if you pay attention.

It was though accepting the friendship and tolerating with compassion the appalling disclosures of so many "acting homosexuals" of both sexes, as well as watching the AIDS epidemic at close range, that I drew my inescapable conclusion that GLBT behaviors needs help and healing. These distortions should not be established as honorable cultural institutions.

Hey Cantor - the problem is not conservative intolerance. Conservatives are the most tolerant political constituency in the world. We want to be left alone and we are more than willing to leave others alone as long as they return the favor.

If you are going to talk about intolerance start with liberals. They are an order of magnitude more intolerant of opposing political viewpoints than are conservatives.

Post of the morning!

"dung punchers"...A doctor I knew when I lived in Northern Ireland... called them that...

LOL! They really do have the gift of gab. When I was in Ireland a few years ago, a dairy farmer I met was complaining about government agricultural inspectors. He called them "collar boys."

Shut up Cantor.
Or show me where in American history acceptance of perverts and terrorists was part of the fabric of America..........

RE:”You can see it in his eyes. He’s a danger. He wants to be there for 40 years.

During the budget and debt confrontations I remember hearing talk on cable that Cantor was the one working for Boehner who the ‘conservatives’ in the House trust. Then I would see him on all the Sunday shows talk and he would give me the creeps.

When asked if the Republican Party specifically needs to do a better job of accepting opinions on gay marriage and other cultural issues that do not align with party orthodoxy, Cantor said “absolutely.”
“I’ve always said we need to be a party of inclusion not exclusion,” Cantor said. “We need to be promoting tolerance and, you know, as someone who is a religious minority, I sort of grew up with having that mindset, knowing full well that I am in a very distinct way from a religious background, separate and apart from the mainstream of this country.”

WTF does that mean?

Why should we be tolerant towards people who are knowingly doing something wrong? Homosexuality is a perversion and is therefore wrong. Nothing can change that.

Hey Cantor! I woke up this morning and found two muslims out in my yard. Seems the neighbors dog was running loose last night.
