Mike Huckabee on his radio show last week told his audience and one caller in particular that the Boy Scouts‘ decision to continue its ban on homosexuals was the right because it protects boy scouts from sexual abuse. The assumption Huckabee is clearly making is all gay people are pedophiles, or a large percentage of gay people are pedophiles.
A caller into Huckabee’s radio show says he was molested by his scout leader for three years, adding, “if there hadn’t have been a homosexual in my troop, I wouldn’t have been traumatized for about three years.” Of course, Huckabee ignored the fact hat the man’s abuser was actually a pedophile, not a homosexual, based on his actions. Huckabee also ignores mountains of evidence that shows that pedophilia and homosexuality are different things, and gay people are no more likely to be child molesters than straight people.
Huckabee then says that the scout leader of his troop when he was a boy “had done the same thing to some of the kids in the scout troop.” Therefore, Huckabee believes, all gays are pedophiles.

I enrolled my son in scouts up in Virginia. Come to find out, the scout leader was a lesbian.
Went to a couple of gatherings, not knowing this was the scout leader. I just thought it was some butchy lady helping out.

Uh, male on male sex, young or old, is homosexual behavior. The fact that the queer chose to have sex with a minor male makes him a homosexual pedophile.

I think you are very perceptive and your concerns legitimate. I had noticed the same thing with some college students I taught (straight guys who were acting gay, even though they had girlfriends - a liability of cultural osmosis.)

In 2003, many volunteers and I started Navigators USA, a coed, secular scouting organization whose founding principles are based on exactly the issues the Boy Scouts of America refuses to address. The top priority for future generations is to be more than tolerant, to understand and celebrate our differences without fear or prejudice.
The Boy Scouts of America does not own scouting. It is time to give all people the scouting experience.

The author ignores the fact that Dan Savage, a frequent visitor to the White House, asserts that there are “Good Pedophiles”.
Now that was easy.
First, heterosexuals do commit sex crimes with children. Maybe homosexuals are more likely to do so. But that isn’t the point.
If you have a male leader, and male kids, then it doesn’t matter if the scout leader might have been tempted to get sexual with a teenage girl, since there won’t be any teenage girls around.
The problem with gay attraction is it is unnatural logically — you can’t create a group with gay people that doesn’t risk sexual attraction.
Many boy scouts are past puberty, so it isn’t really “pedophilia” — it’s minor homosexual sex.
And it is also likely that homosexuals ARE more likely to entertain sex with younger partners, because homosexuality appears to be an opportunity-based sexuality, and with much fewer homosexuals available, it is necessary for homosexuals to go after a group that is still ambiguous and confused about sexuality, or can be coerced into sex acts, thus they go after teenagers.

I’ve searched high and low for a quick reference to reporting such and can’t find it. Your situation demonstrates that so many focus on the same sex aspect of BSA’s policies, myself included.
So I contacted my local Scout office and was told that even in your situation, to contact the District Executive or go to the Council Executive immediately and report it.
I’ve been searching for the National policy on line, but can’t find it. I’m either using the wrong search terms or it’s not out there. I get lots of pro-homo links though.
When I was searching for the BSA homo reporting policy, that was the first site that came up on google. Other search sites, not.
If any of you don't know it by now, google is evil.

Is the specific Scoutmaster position still limited to men?
A lot of us certainly don’t like Huckabee and he has A LOT of explaining to do for some of the idiotic things he’s done, but even so - this ENTIRE SIDE OF THE DEBATE is wide open for someone to step in, and it looks like he’s doing so. The mainstream Republicans don’t want to get anywhere near this issue.
Part of the dodge of the argument is the mixture of terms from different fields and the clouding of definition. Leftists love to corrupt the language to suit them.
A pedophile is technically a person of either gender with an unnatural sexual attraction to prepubescent children of any sex. This is a psychological term. It means children prior to any manifested signs of puberty.
Most of the homosexual abuse of young boys is their targeting of boys entering puberty which in the legal terminology is child molestation as it occurs before the age of consent.
The classic pedophile that grabs five year olds is a completely different animal than the typical homosexual chicken-hawk hoping to create a young toy like himself. He is trying to win the argument by mixing terms.
They create a much higher percentage of their own kind if they can indoctrinate the young.
Ask Penn State what happens when you let a homosexual around children.
