BAND OF BROTHERS WORLD WAR II
Members of the 101st Airborne, June 7, 1944 at Ste.Marie du Mont, France
"This day is call'd the feast of Crispian. He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when this day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say, "To-morrow is Saint Crispian." Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars, And say, "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."
KOREA
Members of the "Chosin Few", 1st Marine Division, December 1950
"Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages What feats he did that day. Then shall our names, Familiar in his mouth as household words, Harry the King, Bedford, and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester, Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered."
VIETNAM
FMF Corpsman D. R. Howe treats the wounds of Pfc. D. A. Crum, "H" Company, 2nd Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment, during Operation Hue City.
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."
AFGHANISTAN
Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division in action, Afghanistan, 2011
"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more, Or close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility; But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let it pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it As fearfully as does a galled rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean." (Henry V, Act IV, Scene iii)
THE STRUGGLE AGAINST TYRANNY GOES ON, AS IT HAS FROM TIMES IMMEMORIAL. THE BAND OF BROTHERS STILL STANDS FAST IN THE BREACH!
They have our six!
Honor them for their Service and Sacrifice!

The North had the resources and the South had the Generals. The job Gen. Lee did on Union forces in the Seven Days Before Richmond was nothing short of magnificent. He was the premier General of the War - not far behind was Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, IMHO.

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!
TATTOO (Click)
Must retire the 0500 Reveille approaches relentlessly.
The Bugler, his grim visage replete with an evil sneer, already mounts the parapet.
Do poor Tom some charity, whom the foul fiend vexes!
Good night, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America!
Godspeed our Troops around the Globe especially those in harms way by virtue of their service and sacrifice we continue to live in Freedom!

Good evening Kathy! ((HUGS!)) I look at General Patton and see what we are currently lacking as a Nation. He surely was a great leader and great man. We are in real need of his example of courage and leadership as a people. He was one of our nations greatest ever for sure.

Must have been a tad disconcerting to have first heard Scott’s voice and have it sound so like your Uncle Jack.

Good evening, Norm....Patton was, indeed, one of a kind.
I read somewhere this past week that the Army was dropping or cutting back on racing sponsorship. Hmmmm.....wonder what brought that on?
