Marine Corps creates law enforcement battalions

The Marine Corps has created its first law enforcement battalions - a lean, specialized force of military police officers that it hopes can quickly deploy worldwide to help investigate crimes from terrorism to drug trafficking and train fledgling security forces in allied nations.

The Corps activated three such battalions last month. Each is made up of roughly 500 military police officers and dozens of dogs. The Marine Corps has had police battalions off and on since World War II but they were primarily focused on providing security, such as accompanying fuel convoys or guarding generals on visits to dangerous areas, said Maj. Jan Durham, commander of the 1st Law Enforcement Battalion at Camp Pendleton.

The battalions will be capable of helping control civil disturbances, handling detainees, carrying out forensic work, and using biometrics to identify suspects. Durham said they could assist local authorities in allied countries in securing crime scenes and building cases so criminals end up behind bars and not back out on the streets because of mistakes.

NCIS is to investigate crimes by military. This force is for keeping an occupied population under control.

Posse comitatus forbids the Army from being involved in domestic law enforcement. It does not cover Marines. Nor does it cover militarized fed law enforcement.

Well said! Even sadder is that many of them are demanding their own enslavement but are either too ignorant or stupid to realize that all this “security” means a loss of freedom.

Very well written and obviously spoken from your heart. There are many of us that join you. As we venture into our twilight years it saddens me that I’m not leaving my grandchildren with a world anything like the one my parents and grandparents left me.

My grandchildren know that I won’t be around for too many more years and that I pray several times a day for their future and the future of America. Hopefully they will always remember to trust that God will watch over them and protect them - come what may.

I know it's a story abut the first three marine MP battalions...but the US Army has 7 brigades of military police. There are, not counting individual MP companies, reserve, and guard, 10 active (Regular Army) MP battalions. There have been MP battalions in the Army organization since 1941. Better late than never though ("oneol'MP" 504th MP Battalion 18th MP Brigade Vietnam 1966-67)

I remember people telling me many years ago, how government would develop into a one-world, global government, all controlled by a few thousand super wealthy people all over the globe...How they would destroy our sovereignty, open the borders, flood the country with millions of illegals and foreigners....Divide the united. Create chaos economically and socially, where government solutions and controls would be needed to solve the, "Problem".
