I feel this young woman has suffered a tremendous amount of pain because of what she went through, and I support her decision of doing what she did. The guys who sexually assaulted her deserve to have their names out in the public for what they did. Sure they will be shamed, but what do you think happened to their victim, who has to live with this sexual assault the rest of her life.

I think whatever punishment she gets for contempt of court will be worth it to her. Can’t “unTweet,” after all - it’s done.

Sorry, but if she was instructed not to make comment, she should have abided by that. Otherwise, put yourself in their shoes.

Let's say some psycho chick accuses you of something you didn't do, just to be vindictive.

She goes public with accusations that you did this, that, and the other thing to her, even though you didn't. But, you've already been tried and convicted in the public's mind. You could go to prison for a long time, even though you're innocent, and I'll it's happened plenty of times. Every now and then, you'll hear of a man who has spent decades in prison, and then the accuser gets a case of remorse, and retracts.

I didn’t realize shariah law had already come to the Midwest, but I was wrong. Giving rapists a slap on the wrist and threatening the victim with punishment for complaining is so typical of shariah. She should be screaming for justice from the housetops! I hope to God those feral young men are permanently shamed.

What BS. She should be able to tell whoever she wants. She is the victim, and they cannot expect her to bury this and to protect her rapists. Also, other girls should be warned about who these boys and what they did. What says they won’t do it again?

Dietrich told the paper she was assaulted in August 2011 by two boys she knew when she passed out after drinking at a gathering. She learned months later that pictures of the assault were taken and shared with others.

In a free country, this would be chalked up as a lesson learned the hard way. In the USSA, now we have three young people with criminal records. Thank a feminist.

Obviously she named her attackers earlier. The boys might find a sucker judge somewhere to protect them for a few minutes, but that’s it.

Luv it when I run across a member of the female persuasion who has a "pair" and as in this case is not afraid of confronting the wuss, a-hole male judge who apparently not only gave the perps a slap on the wrist but imposed a gag order so as the guilty would never have to worry their identity (and their dastardly deed) would see the light of day.

You go girl and if you set up a defense fund, I'll contribute!

The judge can not gag a victim in the US. However, it is done in Saudi Arabia routinely. Perhaps the judge needs a refresher course in the 1st Amendment. BTW, victims in Kentucky must be consulted on any plea bargain agreement. The judge may have violated that law. Victims also have a “right to be heard”... through impact statements in Kentucky. Judges can not supercede rights by gag orders or whims. There are no 6th Amendment issues here that would allow the judge to abridge the defendants right to speech since their will be no jury or trial.

All of the article writers are protecting the boys names as well, I only see the victims name mentioned in all the ones I could find.

It makes me sick that kids who commit horrific crimes other than murder—especially sex crimes—are shielded from publicity (”cannot mention the name because he is a juvenile”) and then get by with juvenile detention til 18 or 21. Unfortunately, the adult-sentence alternative may not be the way to go. What we need is more flexible sentencing and LOTS OF SHAMEFUL PUBLICITY.

http://www.citizensforbetterjudges.org/endorsements/mcdonald.htm

The “gag the victim” judge started out as a social worker. Seems she has held onto her beliefs that the “young men” are victims of their environment.

I hope that this judge wakes up and smells the coffee. She’s protecting the scum of the earth in this case.

If it had been one of my sisters or a daughter, having their names revealed would be the least of their concerns. The snapping cracking sound wouldn't be from cameras.

If the governor had any balls, he’d pardon her and tell the judge to go pound sand.
