I predict that they will use this shooting and the Fast and Furious guns to say that it is time for common sense gun control and that everyone needs to bring all their guns to the local police station for safe storage in the meantime.
They will pretend that their part in Fast and Furious guns never happened.

I think they’re looking for a way to make Republicans look like gun toting psychos AND they want to put the UN Arms Trade Treaty in play by building a case for the “common sense” gun legislation you mentioned. I think fast and furious was to be their “casus bellum” but that didn’t work out so well. Best laid plans and all.
