A lone gunman burst into a movie theater in Aurora, Colo., at a midnight showing of the latest Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises," and opened fire, killing at least 12 people and injuring at least 50, police said.
James Holmes, 24, of North Aurora, was apprehended at the scene clad in a bullet-proof vest and riot helmet.
Witnesses said Holmes crashed into the movie theater from an emergency exit door at the front of the auditorium, setting off a smoke bomb and then shooting off dozens of rounds from multiple firearms, police told ABC News.

The most recent ID is James Holmes. It’s unclear why they first identified him as Mohammed Alam, unless perhaps he had ID on him that provided this name or he told them that his name was Mohammed Alam. Or maybe he’s a convert who has changed his name - but that wouldn’t account for the “Iranian immigrant” part.
So I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Things like this are usually either the work of a young white Goth nutcase or a Muslim terrorist, so either name could work.

You know ABC, NBC and the New York Times will blame conservatives all the way up until it’s proven it’s not one of us. My fear? Some day a conservative might go over the edge - and when that happens they’ll never let go of the story... The MSM hates us that much.

As bad as the shooting itself is, and it's bad no matter who the perp turns out to be, it amazes me that parents would take children to a midnight opening of an ultra violent movie.
So far there are reports of a six year old having died and a three month old being wounded.
