They were the only place in town who sold school uniform clothing for the kids, but I'm not ordering parochial school clothing from a place pushing the Homosexual Agenda.
I'll be dealing with Donald's Uniform on the web...
I was moved as a child reading the biography of J.C. Penney. We have come a LONG ways, and I was a loyal Dan River product purchaser since 1957..it was all J.C. Peney first and then to Sears...but times change.
I shop at other places now.

Bumping this up for all the FReepers who may be doing back-to-school shopping this week.
Freep-mail me to get on or off my pro-life and Catholic List:
Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of general interest.
JCPenney Sucks rocks, and I will NEVER again buy anything from their stores. The silly geese. I am ashamed to ever have been associated with them. J. C. Penney should be rolling over in his grave, about this time.
When I was a kid, there were two stores in town that competed. JCP had been there there longest, but that doesn’t mean they were the best.
I’m surprised they actually launched Chocolate Cheerios.
Actually, the reason those items are missing is because those labels are being discontinued. Over the next two years, St. John’s Bay, Towncraft, East 5th, Amercian Living and other JCP exclusive lines are being discontinued and will be replaced with other brand names.
St. John’s Bay will become JCP. American Living was a line created for JCP by Ralph Lauren which never sold at the “retail” price and only sold when clearanced out.
The idea is to lessen the number of brands carried and to reduce merchandise on the floor in order to create a “boutique” feel within the store.
Some lines, such as Liz Claiborne, Izod and Worthington lines will be expanded. Other will be added, such as the Mango for women and Buffalo jeans for juniors.
I am not saying this is going to work, but the “empty” shelves are from the company emptying their warehouses of those brands which are being discontinued. For three weeks, there have been $4.00 and item in store sales to get rid of these items.
LOL. For years this was a running joke in my family due to the seemingly daily mailers from Penney’s announcing a sale, a coupon or whatever.
Things have certainly changed.
It’s tough to be a FReeper shopper.
JCP, Target, Wal-Mart, Costco, Kohls, Office Depot, Amazon, Kroger, etc.
And Cooks is made in the USA.
Even tougher to work at JCP right now, lol!
Would leave it, but I make a decent hourly wage and have real flexibility of hours. Oh, and I live in a city with 14% unemployment.
Seems like they should be restocking as the discontinued items are flushed. This issue wasn’t so much with brands but categories of clothing e.g. types of fit, men’s socks, etc.

Selling gay/homo marketing plan debacle
JC Penney - selling short would have doubled money in just six (6) months
Feb 2012 $41.32 —> July 2012 $20.02

I’m with you. No more JC Penney, no more General Mills products...
No more Target or Amazon.com ... the list keeps growing. I don’t want my money going to finance gay support.
Amazon is going to be the toughest to give up for me. I don’t get English books online so easily here. Ah well, I’m going to have to improve my Polish...
