As Alan Keyes wrote the other day, you cannot fight evil with evil.
If you haven't read it, do yourself a favor:
A Choice Between Satan and Beelzebub (FR thread)
Brief excerpt:
I grieve deeply as I contemplate the fact that millions of Americans are letting themselves be caught in this diabolical snare. As I tried to point out in 2008, the lesser of evils is still evil. No matter how such an election turns out, people content to choose between Satan and Beelzebub have made clear their willingness to let things go to hell. Moreover, the nature of their choice is so clear to them that they practically boast of the passionate hatred that impels them to it. With this practical boast they become the willing, proud accomplices of the very evil they profess to hate.
Im morally certain this is why Christ admonished his disciples to make striving for Gods perfection the standard for their actions, rather than their hatred of evil. He thought it better to fail reaching for this standard than succeed by abandoning ones life to the devils dominion. He thought it better to fail in the worlds eyes while commending ones spirit to God (as he does on the cross) than succeed by casting ones lot with Gods adversary.
--Alan Keyes
A man who for over 30 years of his adult life by his own admission justified the wholesale slaughter of innocent and helpless human life is purely evil and can and did justify anything. Many times.
Romney's entire political life has been a mis-adventure into godless liberal/progressive evil. There can be no denying that he has during his tenure either advocated for or personally enacted nearly the entire godless liberal/progressive agenda. He has succeeded where the Democrats have failed and he has shown them the way. His record of evil leftist doings, rationalizing, justifying, flip-flopping and mealy-mouthed parsing and spinning (lying) precedes him and tells the tale of the man. He has no foundation. No core principles. No Christian values. No moral compass. If ever a man was a godless liberal in the GOP, he is Myth Romney.
If the Republican conservatives in office or in leadership positions or in the so-called conservative media would simply stop rooting for this evil bastard and commit to the TRUTH and stand tall for Life and Liberty now and at the convention, we could chuck this liberal bastard onto the ash heap of history and run a pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-small government conservative Republican that we can all be proud to support over the Marxist usurper. And we would WIN in a Reaganesque landslide!!
Perversely, Romney is just about the only Republican who may actually lose to Obama. Hell, even McCain beat Romney.
Taking the right path is not easy and not popular at this time, but it's the only path.
May we stand on God's side while attempting to save our Republic!!
“find that conservative presidential candidate that conservatives could all unite behind”
One has yet to be born.
We can vote to deprive whichever evil wins of a popular mandate. The way we do that is to vote third party. Of all years for us to have to do this, Providence has made this year the right one because Obama is in big trouble, as everyone from the MSM to Rush Limbaugh has pointed out: MANY Democrats who voted for Obama last time will desert him at the ballot box this time, either by not voting or by voting third-party.
Every third party vote, not just ours, but those cast by disillusioned Democrats who think Obama isn't "leftist" enough, will count toward reducing the popular mandate of whichever evil wins.
It may not be much to vote or hope for, but Providence is on our side and it's the best strategy we've got. The conservatives we'll be putting in Congress will have a better chance opposing a president so lacking in popular support that the majority of actual Americans (as opposed to electoral college) voted "against" him.
THAT is the effective action we can take.
Preach it brother!!!
I have no idea how any human can think killing a child is a good thing.

Finish the story, mitt sneakily goes off to the bathroom and has one of his media cronies (drudge) fill in for him - as he has his own bottle undercover - you know, image and all.
Frank discussion: I hereby propose a general truce among our conservative forces!!
That’s nice and good - but did you ever consider that Mitt will deceive you and has plans of allowing Obama to take it while putting up a phoney fight? Remember, he is a KNOWN Liar and Deceiver.
His plan to take out any conservative in his way was well-planned beforehand for a reason. HE was given favoritism in the debates by the liberal media time and time, again. Why?
Those RINO loving trolls who continue to insult me or insult our pro-life conservative posters or berate FR or our conservative principles and goals should not be surprised when they get treated in-kind. Those who become belligerent in their zeal to insult us may very well get the zot, truce or no truce.
How many times do they have to repeat that before they figure out evil is gonna win either way?
0 vs R, only difference is skin color. Neither one follows G_d!
Unfortunately, the scumbags at TBL decided to continue trolling FR and working to harm FR financially etc.
They redoubled their whisper campaign against FR.
Which shows writ large that there can be NO compromise with evil.
Apparently, these said trolls didn’t think much about my proposed truce or they wouldn’t be posting their continual insults.
I’m not voting for the lesser of two evils. I’m proudly voting for, (and contributing to) Romney.
What is your purpose in voting for Goode? There is ZERO chance of anyone third party winning the presidency. The winner will be either Romney or Obama. If Obama wins there will be MORE abortion funding and MORE abortions. More unborn babies will die. There will be NO repeal of Obamacare and some people that would have received better medical treatment are going to die. We have a shortage of ER drugs now and it will get much worse if Obama is reelected. Unemployment is going to continue to get worse if Obama is reelected and people WILL suffer. However if Romney wins MUCH of this horror will be avoided. Why not help Romney win then get a better more suitable conservative on the ballot the next time?
I understand your frustration but if enough of you think this way Obama just might win and people WILL actually suffer that would not if he had been defeated. You've probably heard the phrase, all evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing. If you vote third party you are DOING NOTHING.
That is certainly much more powerful than anything I posted.
"Losing" this time would mean losing our country. Romney is flawed. But he is not a Marxist, and he obviously does not hate America. That's not a lot, but this time: it's enough. There is no practical alternative aside from sitting out the election or voting for a candidate with no chance of winning. You are free to do what you wish. At least now, you are.
I will not see my country destroyed by a narcissistic Communist anti-American quisling because his alternative is not sufficiently pure.
Screw that. America deserves to survive and so does my family. With Romney: we have a chance. With Obama: we're finished.
The idea that the strategy to “deprive whichever evil wins of a popular mandate” might be wonderful fantasy, but in reality a One Vote Win by Obama will be treated as a Popular Mandate.
I envy your innocence on this point, but Obama will never suffer from the lack of a Mandate. That situation is only applicable to Republicans. Remember Florida 2000?
The Communists, Democrats, Liberal and Progressives have never forgiven Bush for pulling out that win, and they made sure to destroy him with the help of their Pravda inspired Media friends for twelve years running.
I have made this point before, just as I made the point that another four Years of Obama will not magically promote a Conservative avalanche of support in 2016. If we couldn't get a Conservative Candidate this time around after the mess that is Obama, it will never happen. The damage that will result in another Obama Term will be beyond comprehension.
I'm in that 'we' but I don't think it isaccurate to say FReepers were united behind Newt.
[ And, Yeah, I would love to have seen Newt vs. Zero now.]

Abortion
Mondale: “One final point: President Reagan, as Governor of California, signed a bill which is perhaps the most liberal proabortion bill of any State in the Union.”
Rebuttal
THE PRESIDENT: “Yes. Well, with regard to this being a personal choice, isn’t that what a murderer is insisting on, his or her right to kill someone because of whatever fault they think justifies that?
Now, I’m not capable, and I don’t think you are, any of us, to make this determination that must be made with regard to human life. I am simply saying that I believe that that’s where the effort should be directed — to make that determination.
I don’t think that any of us should be called upon here to stand and make a decision as to what other things might come under the self-defense tradition. That, too, would have to be worked out then, when you once recognize that we’re talking about a life. But in this great society of ours, wouldn’t it make a lot more sense, in this gentle and kind society, if we had a program that made it possible for when incidents come along in which someone feels they must do away with that unborn child, that instead we make it available for the adoption? There are a million and a half people out there standing in line waiting to adopt children who can’t have them any other way.”
THE PRESIDENT: With regard to Social Security ... I will say this: A President should never say “never.’’ But I’m going to violate that rule and say “never.’’ I will never stand for a reduction of the Social Security benefits to the people that are now getting them.
President Reagan evolved over many years from a union Democrat, to a Republican, to a conservative.
Saving unborn children is a categorical imperative. Politics is largely utilitarian: maximizing the greatest amount of good for the greatest number of people.
With all due respect ... President Reagan didn’t think that
a president should ever say “never,” and neither should we.
A self-fulfilling prophecy, made possible only by "conservatives" who support socialists.
Understood. Carry on.
