In campaign remarks this afternoon in San Antonio, Texas, President Obama made a national security case for a strong economy and suggested that his opponent, Mitt Romney, won't take proper care of veterans if he's elected president.
"I'm looking around this country, and I know from our history, from world history, that no nation has always been stronger than its economy," Obama said. "That's an issue of our national defense. And, so, because of our outstanding men and women in uniform we know that we've got the greatest military on earth, but we also have to have the best economy on earth to support those troops. And that means let's start investing, rebuilding roads, and rebuilding bridges, and laying broadband lines in rural communities. Let's rebuild schools that are overcrowded and give them state of the art science labs. And let's rebuild our ports and runways. That's what America is about--is rebuilding. We've got thousands of construction workers out there that are ready to get to work. Let's put them to work. That will be good for our economy, and over the long term will be good for our strength."
Then, the president of the United States segued into attacking his opponent, Romney:
"That's the difference between myself and my opponent: As long as I'm commander in chief we're going to make sure that our veterans are properly cared for," Obama said, suggesting that Romney, if he becomes president, won't take proper care of veterans.

This looks like 2008 allover again, with Obama in control of the media and the media hammering his opponent every news cycle.
Romney had better gear up soon or the memes will bury his voice.
It’s one of the things I think Romney would do a good job of.
Obama is clearly off his meds, his rocker and completely out of reality.
Start? What the hell happened to all that stimulus money? Why not cut back on these wasteful programs and use it to rebuild bridges and schools:
1: The U.S. Agency for International Development (U.S. AID) spent $30 million to spur mango production and sales in Pakistan—and failed utterly.
2: The Air Force spent $14 million to switch three radar stations to wind power; poor planning forced cancellation of one turbine and consideration of the same for the other two.
3: The Federal Aviation Administration devoted $6 million to subsidize air service at small, underused airports.
4: A federal grant for $765,828 went to bring an International House of Pancakes franchise to Washington, D.C.
5: Although the “Bridge to Nowhere” never got built, Uncle Sam still shelled out $15.3 million in project costs, including a 14-minute promotional video, on top of $50 million already absorbed by the Knik Arm Bridge.
6: The Office of Personnel Management sent $120 million to dead federal employees.
7: The Department of Transportation spent $529.689 to create the fourth visitor center around the 54 mile Talimena Scenic Drive between Oklahoma and Arkansas.
8: A check for $113,277 was cut to help the International Center for the History of Electronic Games to preserve “historic” video games.
9: Washington gave almost $18 million in foreign aid to China —money effectively borrowed from China.
10: The Department for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provided a $484,000 grant to build a “Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers” restaurant in Texas.
Of course there are many more examples but why and how this money is allocated and spent is a sin. And the stimulus money? I'm sure that is being funneled back in Obama's campaign war chest via the unions and Soros organizations while our spineless representatives are too afraid to stop it.
Under Obama they’ve cut funding and benefits for vets, especially disabled ones. If this is proper care, then I hope Romney WON’T give them what Obama believes is proper care.
From the ‘guy’ who has presided over the largest American death toll in Afghanistan during his tenure than had been racked up in the previous entire time we had been there.
He’s not talking to people who read and think, he’s feeding propaganda to his base and giving talking heads talking points, giving MSM the memes to chant.
Naturally it all seems strange to those of us who read, study, and understand things, but we’ll get hammered with bits and pieces of this rant anytime we look at MSM output.

No, Obama is being shrewd.
He knows that Romney has already declared a soft-glove approach to campaigning against him, so Obama is taking advantage of this niavete while he can by smearing Romney with the most specious arguments that he can make, of the "when did you stop beating your wife" kind.
Romney's a felon because a document has his name on it. Romney is a tax cheat because he has a foreign account and won't release his tax forms.
The question is when will Romney wake up and start fighting Obama in-kind.

And Obama has?
Tri-Care hasn’t had an increase in co-pays since 1994. Naturally, the Dims are anxious to jack up fees as the first step towards eliminating the program, and pushing all military retirees into Obamacare.
And DoD (predictably) is playing along; the Pentagon has released dire warnings about the escalating cost of health care. In fact, just yesterday, the Defense Department predicted that its health care bill will pass $90 billion a year by the end of this decade—despite a planned reduction of more than 100,000 troops from the active duty force.
When I joined the military in the early 80s, we were promised free, on-base healthcare for the rest of our lives, if we stayed in for at least 20 years. By the time I retired a decade ago, that promise was long-gone.
And here’s another dirty little secret: the reason we have Tri-Care is because Bill Clinton cut military healthcare to the bone in the 1990s, promising illusory “savings” by pushing retirees (and many dependents) off-base under Tri-Care. If we had properly funded military healthcare, the cost would be much lower. As a former Air Force surgeon general observed a few years back, the expenditure for an appendectomy at a military hospital was $300—roughly the cost of the surgical pack. The rest of the expenses (doctor’s salaries, facilities) was paid through other accounts and in many cases, the outlay was minimal, compared to civilian facilities. According to the USAF surgeon general, Tri-Case costs for an appendectomy, at an off-base hosptial, is about $7,000.
I’ve been told on several occasions that military retirees shouldn’t complain about the hike in Tri-Care fees, given the 16-year gap since the last increase. My response? The average military retiree leaves service as an E-6 (Technical Sergeant in the Air Force; Petty Officer First Class in the Navy, Staff Sergeant in the Army). Their average “take home” pension (after taxes and other deductions is $1,600 a month. That isn’t much compared to the average state or federal civil service retiree, and if you retire in a high-cost-of-living area, your miitary pension might pay your mortgage and that’s about it. So, many retirees can’t afford dramatic increases in Tri-Care fees. It’s just one more insult to those who spent their careers defending this country.
One final note: under current plans, retirees who left the service in the senior grades would actually pay more. Another example of Barack Obama punishing success and achievement.

We should take care of our military, period! I am not in the military, but I sympathize. Obamacare will cause me to lose the affordable catastrophic insurance that I have.
Democrats would rather see full body bags than acknowledge the sacrifices of current servicemen and women, our veterans.
This coming from the man who said that "active military should pay for their own health care"! The nerve of that clown...
