Fifty years ago I was a car rental agent at Miami Intl Airport. I worked the night shift. One night a middle-aged fellow walked down the line of counters, stopping at each one, telling each girl that he represented some shoe company, and asking if we would take off one of our shoes and let him inspect it...hinting that we would get a free pair of shoes from his manufacturer. He would take our shoe and hold it up to his face and deeply inhale the scent. Then he took a cloth and rubbed the shoe lovingly. Then he left. A cop came along a little later laughing and told us that the guy was just a weirdo who got his jollies with women’s shoes.
