Gingrich made Romney’s nomination far more easy by continuing to go on rather than concede and help Santorum with a clear majority keep going.

I don’t view him as a pet, but on the other hand, I really have learned better with time not to “like” political candidates, as nice as they may seem, they all have their share of dirt on them, get them in, get them out. That’s all I can say here. Romney isn’t great, but then again, none of his contenders were all that great either. A shame Jindal or West wasn’t up there, because either of them would get a vote from me if they were an option.

They had already chosen Romney as their leader. Notice that the GOP elites were hostile to anyone they perceived as a threat (e.g.: Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and even Ron Paul) but there were no attacks on Santorum. Santorum is a Karl Rove Republican and a socialist. He is a supporter of Arlen Specter.
The GOP elites would rather have a Democrat in power than a Tea Party candidate. That is why the Republican establishment has opposed the Tea Party in elections.
Those in power always results others seeking their power and party hierarchies are comprised of those in power, the power that comes from winning elections.
If the Tea Party continues as it has, it won’t be too long before the are the GOP “elites.”
This election will help continue that process.

It was Santorum's plan to split the conservative vote and then quit after South Carolina or Florida. The only reason he stayed on was that Ron Paul continued to stay on and his plans were upset.
You clearly do not understand politics if you think that Santorum is not part of the Karl Rove group. This group really panicked when it seemed that Herman Cain would win the nomination and the presidency. That is why they went after him. The Karl Rove group would rather have one of their Democrat friends as President than someone who is a fiscal conservative.
BLUNTLY put - many 'conservatives' have never darkened the door of their own DISTRICT GOP meetings. They take place every month - votes take place - people climb the ladder within the GOP at local, district and county levels. People here that ignore that, and then decry the GOP-e, don't have a leg to stand on.
The national committee is made up of only three people from each state, the state chairman, the state committee man and the state committee woman. Who here can name them?

Yes, with the help of Fox News and of course Ann Coulter and the like.
They basically did to the conservatives what the lib media does to everyone.
They did their best to smeer anyone who got in Romney’s way. When, as you said, Cain was a real threat they all had that MBNBC sick look like when Kerry lost to Bush.
As soon as Romney was in they were happy and all was right with their little world.
A couple a month a when Rubio was pandering to illegals that I belive was the signal he is the VP nom.
The Rove group is pro amnesty through and through.
2012 and beyond is not going to be the new era of conservatism.
