Those who vociferously campaign against Romney on this site (and there are a number of such folks) want him to lose and are deliberately trying to help bring this about. If Romney loses Obama wins. Thus campaigning against Romney on this site supports Obama. It is a matter of simple logic.
That those who are ABO are selling out their conservative principles is official FR dogma, coming right from the top. For some time it was a bannable offense to say that one was voting for the GOP nominee. Now saying this merely unleashes a swarm of attackers who deride the intellect and character of any who think Obama would be worse for America than Romney and plan to vote accordingly.
These are the facts.
The democrats succeed in cheating and winning elections whne they’re close, because it is the narrow window of manufactured votes which benefits them to stomp on the legitimate votes. There is a clear effrot by some to make this election as close as can be, even in blue states. Is it because there are many blue states where the Soros Spanish vote counting company will be reporting the vote results? I wonder ... and in red states, if the vote for Romney can be reduced, in those states the cheating potential becomes more viable to turn the results by cheating.
But you seem to start from a false premise: That Romney is capable of winning. I would assert that like with McCain't, he doesn't stand a chance in hell to start with. And like all the fervor surrounding Palin, all the fervor now won't make a damn bit of difference... You really can put lipstick on a pig, but that doesn't mean we are gonna vote for him.
It seems that the Christian Right is to blame for McCain'ts failure - They didn't turn out for him, in spite of Palin. Perhaps one should wonder why the Christian Right could not be moved, and apply that scenario to this one - Because this is going to be the same thing repeated again.
And if the TEA parties work to elect this candidate, it is their doom - Because they will be striving to elect the very thing they were brought into existence to fight against.
You will not get these folks to turn out and hold their noses. You will not get the Christians to vote for abortion and gay marriage. You will not get civil libertarians to vote for big government and gun control. You will not get capitalist conservatives to vote for Keynesian math.
Get this, Yam: Your insistence stifles what could otherwise happen: This site, preeminent on all the web, could (almost by itself) lift a conservative candidate. The Christians would have someone to vote *FOR*. The civil-libertarians would have someone to vote *FOR*. The military and capitalist Conservatives would have someone to vote *FOR*. THEN they will fight. THEN they will strive. Then you will see the base fired up.
And even if they ultimately miss electing a president, there would be happy solace in the fact that we all stood for what we do believe in, and didn't have to hold our noses... and turnout would be more likely to bring us a conservative House , and a Conservative Senate, which is where the battle really is anyhow.
This site, at it's core is *for* Conservative activism. That is what we *DO*. It is when all the pragmatist nippleheads are shouted down that the banner is unfurled. It is when we are doing the right thing (and the Right thing) that this site has power. And when she hits her stride she is a force to be reckoned with. That is when we can sound the clarion call, and make no mistake, *that* is our job.
And that shout-out gets a holler-back from the TEA Parties and the Christian Right (both of whom have their own monstrous networks ready to go), and finally, other conservative media... and off we go.
So it actually IS a matter of simple logic, as you proclaim, but not as you define it - Conservatives are not gonna turn out for what they don't believe in, and trying to co-opt them with mere Republican-ism (voting for the big rhinestone 'R') has never worked, and will not work now.
If you want the Conservatives to turn out in force (and when that happens, it cannot be stopped), you must give them someone to vote *FOR*. They are already pissed and wanting a fight, but they need someone to coalesce behind - The harnessing of the Conservative factions, as it has always been called - and that ain't Romney. It is predictable.
So maybe this will give you a peek at what those of us whom you impugn are driven by. Why I fight vociferously against Romney is because he is false, doomed to fail from the start... And it takes all the air away from those who really could advance our cause, and actually do have a chance at waking up the sleeping giant. Reagan's great gift to Conservatives was to show us what we can do when we work together - And how that works (the only way it works) is when no one has to take a back seat... Where everyone's immovable 'first things' (principles, for those of you in Rio Linda) are honored and upheld.
Romney cannot ... And I do mean CANNOT... be that guy. So let's get busy and find someone who can.
Here's a fact that you can stick in your craw. Reply #89, this thread:
Your current efforts are much better suited elsewhere.(J.R.)
Go ahead, call me a liar again.
. . .
These are the facts.
I think you're coming close to really accepting those facts.
We are all morons, Obama supporters to the man according to you.
Seems that it would be much more comfortable else where for you.
Unless of course...
Nah...
