Barack Obama is not a Real Black President
Godfather Politics ^ | July 9, 2012 | Gary DeMar

Posted on 07/09/2012 11:24:36 AM PDT by yoe

I didn’t say it. Morgan Freeman said it. In an interview with NPR to promote his latest film, The Magic of Belle Isle, the popular Oscar-winning actor said that people “conveniently forget that Barack had a mama, and she was white — very white American, Kansas, middle of America There was no argument about who he is or what he is. America’s first black president hasn’t arisen yet. He’s not America’s first black president — he’s America’s first mixed-race president.”

Freeman implied that it’s Obama’s white side that’s the problem. This clearly fits the definition of racism: an ideology of racial superiority and hierarchy.

Freeman wasn’t the first person to comment on the blackness of President Obama. A TIME magazine opinion piece from 2007 carried the title “Is Obama Black Enough?” The article cited comments similar to those of Freeman:

“‘Obama’s mother is of white U.S. stock. His father is a black Kenyan,’ Stanley Crouch recently sniffed in a New York Daily News column entitled ‘What Obama Isn’t: Black Like Me.’ ‘Black, in our political and social vocabulary, means those descended from West African slaves,’ wrote Debra Dickerson on the liberal website Salon.

Writers like TIME and New Republic columnist Peter Beinart have argued that Obama is seen as a ‘good black,’ and thus has less of [a] following among black people. Meanwhile, agitators like Al Sharpton are seen as the authentic ‘bad blacks.’ Obama’s trouble, asserted Beinart, is that he will have to prove his loyalty to The People in a way that ‘bad blacks’ never have to.”

Why would Freeman and others dismiss the blackness of President Obama? I suspect that he is blaming the president’s failures on his whiteness. If he were “authentically black,” as Al Sharpton claimed he wasn’t, there would be the type of changes that liberal blacks have been suggesting for a long time.

You see, President Obama has not been liberal enough. It’s his white side that keeps him from being the radical the Left was hoping for.

If Obama loses in November, liberals like Freeman can always say, “Well, if he had been authentically black, a phrase used to describe a real black person, we would have seen some real hope and change.”

Liberals can’t stop making race the issue of our day. Freeman is no different. While lamenting that race has become an issue, he can’t stop talking about it. “When Barack was elected president,” Freeman went on to say, “a good portion of the country broke into tears because it was proof that we are really Americans — that we are who we say we are. And I thought at the time, okay, we can pretty much stop talking about race here in this country, and concentrate on growth. Well, it didn’t turn out that way quite.”

Yeah, because guys like you keep bringing it up!

A young American Negro spoke to a visiting African 'Prince' whose skin looked like polished Ebony and his robes were equally beautiful. The Negro was complaining about his lot in life being 'black'. The Prince waved a hand to silence him then said, "You are NOT black". This was one of the live NPR news programs in the 1980's....it was a stunning bit of reality to all, especially the young Negro.

There was a time when being truthful about anything said was the honorable way to go....activists have changed that course to where beginning in grade school and continuing through college lying and cheating has become de rigueur.

Our Alan West would make a nice Black President, but the Libs would want someone more like Charlie Rangel or that guy Major somebody who told Congress about all the sharks, or that other guy who said Okinawa would tilt over. It don’t matter, Dems will never have anyone that matches the Black Republicans as solid presidential material.

I had my tagline long before Morgan Freeman stated the obvious.

BO had no ancestors who were slaves, but there is a high probability that he had ancestors engaged in trading slaves.

Not so different that what BO is doing now, if you think about it.

At the height of his remarkable boxing career, Muhammad Ali (born Cassius Clay), once declared “I’m glad my great-grandpa got on that boat,” having seen Africa first-hand.

We truthfully don't know what that hole at 1600 is!

All he's provided for identification so far were ALTERED/FORGED computer generated files.

His BC could list him as Caucasian, or even Arab!

That would be a BIG reason for him to hide it.

If this is an attempt by the black community not to take credit for this failure in chief, TOUGH CRAP! He’s black and the whites aren’t taking credit either!

If being black mean having ancestors who were slaves, then I would agree with his definition. Barack Obama has no personal claim on that part of the black American experience. If his definition of black means having no white or other non-African ancestry, then he’s going to have a rough time finding a suitable candidate.

Sure, Mr. Freeman, the brilliant, visionary, articulate parts are black; the lazy, lying, narcissistic, racist parts are white. Can't figure where the radical, revolutionary, socialist parts belong.

Barry does not share the historical or cultural experiences of “real” African Americans. He’s only pretended to be a black person, just like he’s pretended to be everything else that he wants to appear to be in order to gain some advantage for himself - without revealing the truth of who he really is.

Although they can’t come out and say it, maybe black Americans are beginning to figure out that Barry is just a fraudulent deceiver and manipulator.

Both sides of barky are the problem: his anti-Capitalist liberation-theology black side AND his anti-Christian secular-progressive white side.

Looks like Morgan Freeman is testing the water to see what floats.

obama is a disappointment, at best, but how does a prominent spokesman/roll model for the black community back away from the Official First Black President?

How do you call it like it is when you, like so many others, have put all your cred on the line for such a disappointment?

You disown him! Why? Well,..ah...ummm...oh! I know. He's not really one of us. He isn't black enough.

Who cares if he's not a Natural Born Citizen, he's not a Natural Born Black Man!

Very true. Conservatives have to stop calling him black.
if we call him black, we cede him the race card.
I personally think of him as a wasp. Tie goes to the mother.

African-Americans will vote for an inauthentically Black Democrat just as overwhelmingly as they vote for authentically or inauthentically White Democrats. The turnout may vary a little but they aren't voting for the Republican whatever happens.

Maybe Morgan Freeman's not talking ideology, but style. Maybe he just wants more funk, more attitude from Obama, not any specific policy or major changes. Not sure he knows himself what he actually wants, he just knows people aren't happy with Obama.

A lot of people got high on "hope and change." It was a mass phenomenon: each person's enthusiasm fed other people's enthusiasm, everyone fed off the hype and the feelings of the crowd.

People weren't sure what they actually wanted done, but now that the high is over, they feel it. What (if anything) they'll do about it isn't clear, but they certainly feel the withdrawal symptoms now.

I think he knows the Obama admininistration will go down in history as an abject failure rife with corruption and incompetence. If Obama was a successful, competent President that actually delivered on his promises of transparent, ethical government he'd still be Black.

They got their Black president, and he turned out to be an embarassment so now he’s not really “Black”, which means they’re still due a “Black” president.
