TAMPA -- A man enters a Clearwater strip club. He leaves three hours later thinking he's spent $600.
A few days later he checks his credit card account and learns he was charged $50,000.
There's no punchline or joke.
That's what Lokesh Simon James said happened to him after a March night spent at the Bliss Cabaret, 3860 Ulmerton Road.

I drive by Bliss Cabaret every day on the way to and from work. Why anyone would go in there is beyond me. There are much higher class establishments within minutes of Bliss that would likely not be filled with meth-addicted credit card scammers.
Well well well. B of A again. Who would have thunk?
I go into safeways to buy a lb of hamburger and get a $50,000 credit card bill, and it is not fraudulent because I was actually at Safeways.
In order for a charge to be legitimate, under federal law, and under merchant account rules, the merchant has to prove that I actually authorized those charges. Where is the slip with his signature for $50,000 worth of services?
I won’t do business with B of A ever. I certainly would not buy their stock no matter how cheap.
Gee, using a credit card at a sleazy strip club. What could possibly go wrong?
Clip Joint 101. You go there you get screwed.
How many lap dances does $50,000 buy?
Let’s not ever forget that after the taxpayers bailed BofA they outsourced 30-40,00 billing and office jobs to The Philippines.
I canceled all accounts.
Oh they also had a real snotty attitude.
First off, anyone who uses a credit/debit card in a strip joint is nuts and deserves whatever they get.
Second off, anyone who banks with Bank of America is nuts and deserves whatever they get.
I just went to thier web site. Saturdays is “couples night”. Certainly if you take your wife you’ll likely spend less money!
My calculator tells me that 2500 lap dances @20.00 each would come out to 50,000.00.
That would come out to just under 14 lap dances per minute for the 3 hours he says he was there.
Either the guy signed a blank ticket and the club filled in the amount afterwards or he was tanked and scammed into “buying” what the club termed as “unlimited 24 hour VIP Membership” without understanding what the cost was. Sucker.
Two great points. I also wonder why someone with a > $50K limit wouldn't have more sense in protecting his interests.
“Where is the slip with his signature for $50,000 worth of services?”
He probably got drunk and distracted and signed something he shouldn’t have. I got double charged on a credit card in a bar. When they take your card they can do all sorts of things. I got the charge removed and didn’t pay it.
I have never used my own credit card in a strip club. I never went to one by myself. I used to have people take me to them all the time. Bring cash or better yet have someone else pay. And don’t let them valet park your car and hold onto the keys.
Dumb,horny man+Gold Card= Massive debt.
Yep...I fell for that one..but not that bad and paid it off with a lesson learned....
Taking your wife to a tiddybar would make sense like flashing your credit card there.
My husband got scammed about a month ago at a strip club in Spain. He had to explain to me why $7000 was gone from our bank account. The charges are being disputed, but not only did he lose money, he lost his wife. Prostitution is legal in Spain and I can only imagine what happened that night. As a Christian, he put 18 years of marriage in the toilet. He’s a pilot and gone extensively, so fat chance I’d ever be able to trust him again. Actions are not without consequences.
New American Standard Bible (©1995)
Matt. 5:28
but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
“Hey, you made a mistake on my bill! It shouldn’t have been a cent more than $48,579.23.”
I should have added this one, too:
King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
Proverbs 6:32
But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
I cancelled a Chase account and they were snotty, too.
