Please don’t feed the trolls.
You know who they are. Let’s keep the thread clean, backbiting and rudeness free.
If they reply or post, simply ignore them. They have the right to do so, after all.
But please! I think they get off on the arguing. They’re especially happy calling you a Romneybot, or stating you are not a conservative, etc etc... So don’t give them the thrill of it, ok?
Reality check, Diogenesis.
The choices are Obama, Romney or Goode.
One of the polls has Goode at 1%.
Like it or not, the reality check choices are Obama or Romney.
We have already seen 42 months of Obama. What would another 4 years of Obama bring?
[Disclaimer: I didn’t care for any of the GOP primary candidates. I frequently posted ‘is this the best the GOP has?’ But, another 4 years of Obama scares me.]
You sure nailed that one. If only a small percentage of that venom were directed at Zero..... It used to be fun to freely express a conservative opinion here. Now you can be blasted as a RINO liberal robot if you don't exactly follow a narrow line that excludes 3/4 of conservative America.
It certainly is annoying if you need to be here and have no site you prefer to FR. Then again, pestiferous advertisements would be much more annoying!
Romney is the Republican nominee and we should all get behind him.
He knows how to balance a budget and will make the cuts that are necessary.
$1 Trillion deficits every year are unsustainable.
The Romney “hatred” doesn’t turn me off, in fact it’s a big part of why I’m here. I was active on lucianne.com, but there are so many Sarah-bashers & Romney fans (frequently the same posters) there that I came here to de-tox.
I understand your references to Flo are just for fun, but her boss (company owner) is one of the biggest donors to this liberal/progressive/communist movement. Did one ever wonder why he chose the name Progressive?
...if you plan to vote for Romney; or you can be blasted as crazy and/or stupid if you plan not to vote for him.
The problem is incivility. It's baffling, but people converge on an anonymous opinion forum and show they can't abide different opinions.
There are dozens of threads where people pro-Romney, anti-Romney, anti-Obama, ABO, etc are going at it hammer and tongs.
I’m simply asking (asking, not demanding) that people don’t do that on THIS thread. Is that asking too much?
I don’t own this site, nor this thread. I understand anyone can do as they please without my say so.
Still, I’m asking that those kinds of knock-down, drag-out fights don’t occur here.
I’m not just speaking about the Romneybots versus the Romney-haters... The primaires had people going at it over Palin, Perry, Cain, Bachmann, Gingrich and Santorum.
We luckily avoided most of that on this thread.
moonshot925: "Romney is the Republican nominee
and we should all get behind him."
Mr. RomneyCARE is NOT the nominee as yet.
He has fought, backstabbed, cheated, changed rules
during and after the game,
and has misrepresented himself and then hidden,
but he is not the nominee as yet.
moonshot925: "He knows how to balance a budget and will make the cuts that are necessary. "
Actually, Mr. RomneyCARE's record shows otherwise
so why both to misrepresent the truth?
Do you think we are all stupid ... or just cannot remember?
"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."
[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]
One other thing I saw recently to illustrate just how bad the 80,000 number is in reality, it takes about 125,000 new jobs just to keep pace with the growing population. It should be better described as we saw a 45,000 jobs deficit for June alone. Maybe some enterprising soul should go all the way back to February 2009 and run the numbers that way and see what the actual deficit is to date.
Hey Romney Campaign, are you reading?
Brilliant as usual buddy.
We should make sure Mitt sees this piece since it should be coming from his mouth to the ears of everyone in the US. You summarized the may downsides of obamcare exquisitely and so easy to read that everyone is now on board.
Zerocare is also irs agents and all the other facets of a socialist bill which is much much more than a health care bill but a takeover of 1/6 of the economy pos. Always has been.
Of course true to nature our side seldom explains these things as well as they should. That's why the job falls on to the New Media, you, the rest of us, Rush and others to do the heavy lifting. Once again you have done so.
Morning AB, all .
Been a hot week and remember please that I have the tourons here in the swamp.
For when the tourists come for vacation, they cannot die. They can ride their cars 80 miles an hour, back country roads these. They careen around the curves with happy smiles on their faces .
They can pass the slow poke in front within six or seven feet of an oncoming car for they are on vacation, they cannot die, the rules of life are suspended.
Husband and I pitching and moaning and will continue until Labor Day. To add grievance to hurt, the sumguns done went and got GSP AND THEY KNOW ALL THE SHORTCUTS!
Whew. Okay, I’m done.
As always AB, thank you so for doing this thread.
Oh, and made a loaf of home made bread the other day and it turned out fine.
Making pineapple baked beans today, puttering, reading this thread and kinda glad July 4 is past along with the heat wave.
Elections are coming soon!
It's even worse than you described, if that's possible.
To get to 4.4 million, Obama adds only the months where job numbers increased, and excludes all the months where they decreased. (That's why he excludes 15 months of his presidency.) Some would argue that you should even add the three months of jobs that tanked after Obama was elected, but not inaugurated. That would make it even far worse, yet.
If you used the same counting method for President Bush, the Bush presidency would have been a job generating dynamo. You could also argue that doing so for Bush would be appropriate, since the job losses due to the 9/11 attacks were hardly a result of Bush policies, while the job losses early in the Obama term were indeed caused by his policies.
Exactly! If we were sitting aorund a table, we wouldn’t talk to others that way, for sure. Otherwise, someone would certainly get a black eye!
Also, and probably the best reason, is most conservatives are Christians. Ask yourself, what would Jesus do? Didn’t He command us to love one another? I’ve broken this commandment more than once on this website due to these arguments. So I ask anyone/everyone whom I offended for forgiveness, as I am sorry and repent.
So agian, try to refrain. If anyone comes here looking for a fight do not give it to them. How can you tell that they’re looking for a fight and it’s not just a disagreement?
Well, they’ll totally ignore your argument and start with the insults. A good sign that this person is a troll. Let them have the last word and do not reply. Generally, they’ll move on.
Jindal is all that’s worth a peek; McConnel is a piece of cooked spagetti...and not a good brand, either. Perhaps Mullers.
I think I'm likin' this one this Sunday morning!! ;-) Thanks for the thread.
Their biggest problems will be whose head to cut off next. and how radical the madrassas should be. Who is not sufficiently islamic enough and how far behind her man a woman should walk and how much of a her body should be covered up, 92 or 96%. It's all sheer insanity over there and the sooner we get out the better from my standpoint.
Good morning!
I only come to this thread on FR. Reasons:
Too much in-fighting, which pre-dates Romney. I saw it in 2008 when Guiliani backers got the old heave-ho. Before that in 2000, I still remember how Bush supporters were attacked.
(I always thought conservatives were supposed to be reasonable, not emotional.)
Slow servers. This is frustrating when there is a big news event.
Lack of easy posting of graphics (icons, photos, charts, etc.)
Those are the top three. In addition, I prefer posting on Twitter, where I can directly confront news people.
I am also disturbed about the anti-Mormon sentiment I have seen on some threads, which I find strikingly similar to the left.
So that is why I am only here on your thread, and only every so often.
Now to go move the sprinkler. We have not had rain since late May, and I am struggling to keep my landscape alive.
I was speaking of FR as a whole, not this thread. I think all would agree you have the right to make whatever requests you like about this thread.
One person’s hate is another person’s passionate defense of their beloved country. For some, it’s difficult to be nice to people they view as furthering the destruction of the country they love, but I suggest we try.
