LePage calls IRS the 'new Gestapo' The governor uses his radio address to attack President Obama's Affordable Care Act.
By Steve Mistler smistler@pressherald.com Staff Writer
Gov. Paul LePage used his weekly radio address to blast President Obama's health care law and described the Internal Revenue Service as the "new Gestapo."
The IRS description was a reference to a provision in the Affordable Care Act that requires Americans not insured by their employers or Medicaid to buy health insurance or pay an annual penalty when filing their tax returns. The provision, known more broadly as the individual mandate, was the subject of a multi-state lawsuit, but was recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

This guy has guts. Opposing this regime can be bad for your health. Obama and his goons might have to show up one day to make his mind right.
The MSM is whining about the words such as Nazi and Gestapo.
I think its very descriptive as we will surely fear the tax man cometh in as such as if we were Jews in Germany.
And I am at the very least satisfied LePage had the guts to speak out on this, hopefully it starts an epidemic of patriotic fortitude, something sad lacking in Americas diet.
It IS time to get angry, to be afraid, and to react.
The folks over at Pravda on the Penobscot aka Bangor Daily News will be apoplectic this morning.
Sorry, we can not let these clowns get away with trying to define this TAX as a penalty! There is a reason Roberts majority opinion defined this as a TAX!
It will almost be worth listening to ‘ray and ted’ monday mornibg.
Check my tagline;
The moonbats are having an orgy of name-calling, their usual form of "debate."
Every time I go there, I feel like I have to scrape the bottom of my shoes with a stick.
God, what morons.
They sure are Morons but I get a bit satisfaction watching them melt.
It will almost be worth listening to ray and ted monday mornibg.
LOL. Almost.
We should be placing some of our Judges on trial.
4 were placed on trial at Neuremburg, but thousands were guilty.
We have the beginning of the same situation and it is getting worse.
Judges who make their own law, and Judges who make their decisions based on what the Government expects of them.
Better to ask what the penalty is for too many forms. When will people start to resist? Don’t like the IRS? Do your return in long hand with stray marks and poor writing that prevents the automated scanners from being able to read it, requiring a human in intervene. Amend your prior years return for trivial things. Fill out quarterly returns for trivial amounts. Bury them in work, 1/2 of them are EEO minority hires that cannot perform their jobs anyway.
But the truth is people will just go to H&R or use TurboTax next year again, making it easy for them so they can see the big game on their mass hypnosis devices.
I was wondering what our governor would have to say about this and Paul did not disappoint. Now to keep ObamaCare away from our state line.
I would rather allow hospitals to turn away patients who do not have insurance. You can’t even buy a car without insurance at least at a dealership. To me that is the fairest way to put this whole thing to rest. Show me the Visa card or insurance card or go on your way. I am sick and tired of people wanting free everything.
Thank you for standing up, Mr. Lepage!
...and yet they will still complain about the increasing lack of job opportunities in the area, as though their preferred policies (now completely shared by Washington) had nothing to do with it.
I agree with you that the description is very fitting. Obamacare changes persons from individuals into collective commodities to be managed by government goons. Once that transition is completed, then it is simply a numbers game....the collective will accept any action that does not directly affect their particular group.
This is precisely how the National Socialists ginned up the collective in support of policies that “managed” the undesirables of their time. It was considered in the best interest if society to eliminate the Jews, gypsies, and any other “type” that was effectively demonized as a threat to the collective German society.
