Senate minority leader McConnell: Odds long against lawmakers seeking to gut health care law

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — It’s on his to-do list, but U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the odds are against repealing the health care law championed by President Barack Obama.

The Kentucky Republican said Monday it’s hard to unravel something of the magnitude of the 2,700-page health care law, WHAS-TV (http://bit.ly/LSUtqX ) reports.

“If you thought it was a good idea for the federal government to go in this direction, I’d say the odds are still on your side,” McConnell said. “Because it’s a lot harder to undo something than it is to stop it in the first place.”

I know!! I have been hearing that he has been there too long from folks down there. I think it’s worse than that, but if they are determine to defeat him, I don’t care what the reason.

Yeah - we wouldn't want you to do anything that was hard.

Good for them. The folks who can really push him are his constituents who are up and active.

I don't think many in the GOP leadership understand how conservatives are really feeling at this time.

What a shock. Mitchie the RINO ready to accept Deathcare. Of course he won’t be forced to take it because Congress gets to keep their cushy coverage. Maybe if Mitch had to face the death panels repeal might seem a lot easier.

I have a slight different take in the same general direction. I don’t think think they will outright repeal it UNLESS they have a replacement bill with THEIR take on RomneyCare or whatever they are pushing. More likely they will “update” the bill and just change some things.

Like dogs and fire hydrants they will want to put their mark on it. The idea of simply repealing it and replacing it with nothing is simply not in the vocabulary of these congressmen.

Passing lousy bills is all they do for a living.

This is one area Rush completely pi$$es me off in. He almost never calls these bastards in the House and the Senate out by name when they do sh*t like this. It's always left up to Levin to do the heavy lifting by calling a spade a spade. Rush might make some brief “observations”, but he never grabs these POS like McConnell and Boehner by the balls like Mark does.

And please don't hit me with the Rush can do no wrong crap. I'm a Rush fan making an honest observation.

My daughter tells me ‘shouldn't have driven over that nail - sure is hard to change that tire. Well Mitch - you already hit the nail -you have a flat so change the f”n g tire.

Or.. wait till the other three go flat -then have obama check the tire pressure. moron.

It matters not to McConnell if Rush or anyone else calls him out.

Now, what would matter is if old Mitch actually feared us.

Does anyone in DC fear us??

Wow, that McConnell has all the spine of a jellyfish. He needs to go.

Pray for America.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying.

This dinosaur needs to retire. Take a look at the guy; the only thing he instills in the Democrats is laughter and ridicule. I cannot believe both the House and Senate are led by inept, gutless elites. I hope the GOP can force leadership votes in both the House and Senate. Cantor and McCarthy also need to go. These RINOs are utterly useless!

Is McConnell wimping out?
The only thing McConnell does well is surrender, just like the French.

Total BS, McConnell. Romney could give every company in America a permanent waiver, and fire all 16,500 IRS agents. It could be gutted immediately on January 20, 2013. Bob

” - - - - the cry baby boehner need to go.”

I’m Olde School, so I call him “The Esteemed Sobber-of-the-House Boehner.”

Nothing can get done in the House with Boehner as leader of the RINOs.

Boehner is an essential part of the problem.

Mitch the Bitch snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. It’s weak ass weasels like this that hold us back as much as any liberal does. He and Bonehead have been major disappointments...all bark and no bite.

Just wait until Romney is elected. He's going to take the wimp ass RINO act to a whole new level.

The problem is that the *MANDATE* is unpopular, but the benefits of it probably less so. Much less so.
Look at how many people who call themselves ‘conservative’ get money from social security and/or medicare. “But I paid for it’ is always the refrain.

That and the health insurers have cut their own throats by making coverage pretty darn hard to get if you are 45+ and have any sort of issue like diabetes or cancer- and there are a LOT of people who have been laid off from jobs that had good benefits, that they were at their jobs for 10,20 25 years and now find themselves unable to buy insurance at ANY price. When you find that you simply CAN’T get coverage, at all, then it’s easy to say”F’ the constitution, my rights mean NOTHING if I’d dead or completely wiped out financially. “
