June 29--CHAMPAIGN -- Patient advocates are celebrating the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to uphold the basic provisions of the Affordable Care Act, but a local insurance executive warns it will likely result in higher coverage costs for those under 45.
Ingrum also said the law narrows the gap between what younger and older people can be charged for coverage.
"So, insurance rates for the younger people between 18 and 44 are going to go up dramatically, while rates for people over 44 are going to go down," he said.

Of course those between 18 and 45 are heavily laden with 1%’ers! It’s damn hard for me to feel sorry for the young kids who voted for Obama, they are getting their payback. The only problem is it will take most of their life for them to dig out of this mess.
And I thought justice died yesterday.
There are 40+ Million folks on food stamps How are they going to pay this mandatory fee/tax/penalty?
In Massachusetts most of the few kids I do talk to know they are getting porked. They see their tea hers as low watt losers, schools as joke babysitting compounds. They vaguely know they are the generational dump for olders debts, that they will not have the income or credit to own a house and have the privilege of paying for town pensions. I’ve been surprised at the few knowing a bit about the Fed.
Young people in E. Europe revolted against their older, fat, lefties.
Reality is the best teacher and America deserves to get big gov, big finance, big tax good and hard.
IDK what insurance costs in most of the US, but in several states that have had most of the ACA provisions already set as state law, such as NJ/NY/MA , a 30 year old single male will be spending ~$190/month for barebones ObamaCare with Rx, and ~$235/month for ObamaCare Plus with Rx.
The penalty fees are definitely the way to go for healthy younger people since you can no longer be denied for pre existing conditions and you can sign up AFTER you fall ill/get sick.
Pay for an annual check up out of pocket, pay the IRS penalty, in 2016 that’ll be like ~$950ish if the checkup doesn’t perform too many blood tests.
“But my perfesser told me health care would be free!” - Stoner Joe, UF 2012.
Hey now, why you picking on UF?
and the punchline is....they all thought their health care was going to be FREE!
On Redeye Radio last night, they talked about the changes that were being implemented at their company, vis-a-vis their insurer.
Deductibles for a family of four are going to be about $4k-$6k a year before they hit the co-pays. Although, the company is setting up pre-tax health savings accounts for the employees.
That means for a family of four with a household income - up to 10% of their pre-tax income will be going to healthcare ...
I’m going on Welfare! ( new twist on “I’m going to Disney Land!)
Overwelm the system!
All the really cool people are doing it.

Payments made to Walk in Clinics with posted fees for routine care, are generally not considered amounts that apply towards your annual deductables.
There-I fixed it for you.

I sure as hell am not paying for abortion and contraception. Obama can arrest me all he likes, I’m still not paying for it.
I don’t believe it’s going to be possible to “dig out of this mess”. This country may go bankrupt before it’s fully implemented.
you Republicans are already ‘organizing’... :)

you Rep’s = young Republicans
:)
I was on an HMO through my company that was running me close to $200 a month two years ago... your figures of $190/$235 are low, I believe.
And, what is with this, barebones or plus? Different classes of coverage, funny.
Good! You sin (by voting for Obama), you pay. Seems fair to me.
With their EBT card, of course!
