It doesn’t matter if he’s re-elected or not. The health care act will
not be repealed and the relationship between the gov’t and the people has been permanently altered no matter who becomes President.
Anyone who believes otherwise is living in a dream world.
It turns out Bush was the Democrats best friend.
I am miserable about the precedent that this ruling sets, however...
Given that Roberts and SCOTUS declared the only reason the law stands today is by saying the “individual mandate” is a TAX,
it appears indisputable now that Congress will be able to repeal the individual mandate and perhaps the whole bill now through “reconciliation”. Thus, we will only need a simple majority of votes in each chamber of Congress plus the presidency, and filibuster problems won’t come into play. The Dems and Obama will of course complain bitterly, but if they take their objections to court, Roberts’ text will quickly squash them.
I guess we can try to repeal it.
But get ready for John McCain and the RINOs and the usual gang of idiots to kill it in the Senate (if they can override Harry Reid’s filibuster.)
