Where is Romney? Why hasn't he made a statement yet?
Thanks for your well reasoned post. They are becoming fewer and fewer on FR. I’m frankly getting tired of some people who call themselves conservative or libertarian spending all of their time attacking Republicans thus laying the groundwork for Liberal victories. We paid a heavy price for this type of narrow thinking in 2008. Grow up people. Our real choices in life are seldom all black or all white but as mature adults we can’t just stand around and whine as the world passes us by.
all my representatives in Congress voted against Obamacare.. but I have no doubt this country won’t be recognisable in a hundred years.. good thing I won’t be here to see it
OBAMA HAS PASSED THE LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN US HISTORY
Not to mention that our premiums have risen...bending the cost curve down???
” - - - Where is Romney? Why hasn’t he made a statement yet? “
Romney to staff: “What should be my etch-a-sketch opinion on the Backdoor Roberts/Obama”care” Tax? What should I say? By the way, does my hair look all right? I wish Ann was here! She’d know what I should say - - - . Maybe I’ll just wait until all this blows over. It always does in politics! (Laughter) Just look at all the fuss over my Romney”care?” Who even remembers now that I was the author of it?”
Staff to Romney: (Loud Laughter).
Romney to Staff: “Well, I guess that is it for today. No sense jumping in today. Let’s wait a couple of days. It is hot in the Sun. Should I wear a hat? No, my hair is what gets the votes!”
Staff member to Romney: “Right. Saying something in a couple of days means the weekend political talk shows. Would you like me to set up a guest appearance for you?”
Romney to staff member: “ No, no, not today. Let’s have the speech writers bring me a couple of rough drafts first. No sense going out there and making a fool of myself. If there is one thing I have learned from my hasty response to the SCOTUS ruling on the Arizona Immigration Law it is to wait until there is a clear trend in public opinion before commenting on ANYTHING controversial!”
GPO Elite monitor/staff member: “Mitt, that is why we endorsed you! You are really smart politically! You make us in the Republican Party very, VERY proud!”
“Obama is destroying this country. It dies a little every day he is in office. I am not thrilled with Romney, but I will enthusiastically support him to rid us of this contemptible POS we have now.”
I agree, but sadly, many here don’t.
Amen. Great posts, deener and Scott From the Left Coast.
Great picture of the Esteemed Sobber-of-the-House John Boehner.
Romney made a very clear statement on this yesterday.
He said he hoped the Supreme Court overturned it, but anyway his first act (or one of them) as president would be to overturn this health care act.
Donations are pouring in so fast at Romney’s website it has shut down
Hate to temper righteous indignation with reason, but when Bush appointed Roberts we were all extremely happy on this site.
Roberts and Alito seemed perfect.
I think now that if Roberts is conservatively inclined (and I’m not sure) he is bending over backwards to interpret the law as he sees it and not given in to pressure or idealogy.
Amen, deener, but asking these people to grow up is an exercise in futility.
“Where is Romney? Why hasn’t he made a statement yet?”
Because he knows if he says what he’s really thinking it would be liking dumping gasoline on a fire.
Romney’s statement is powerful and eloquent.
” - - - Lets not expand it. Lets repeal it.”
Since Chief Justice Roberts did Congress’ job by converting a well-defined punitive FINE into another predatory TAX, the question to us FReepers is:
“ARE YOU TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY?”
_______
BTW, why not just ABOLISH it FOREVER?
Woo hoo ... I’m so glad. But injecting reality into some here doesn’t work.
Obama knew all along that this was a tax, but since he’d said he wouldn’t add middle-class taxes, he called it something else.
Now it’s out. It’s a tax. But doesn’t Congress have to authorize a tax? And we have a Republican House.
Wow.
Romney just said on his first day in office - if elected President - he "will act to repeal ObamaCare".
On Day One.
” - - - he is bending over backwards to interpret the law as he sees it - - - “
Roberts is a lawyer.
Lawyers do not obey laws.
Lawyers instead re-interpret laws to suit themselves.
Should lawyers be prohibited from being one of THE NINE SUPREMES?
Go Romney. I hate to send a rich guy money, but ...
