The SCOTUS Just Woke Up a Sleeping Giant (Vanity)
June 28, 2012 | pistolpackinpapa

Posted on 06/28/2012 7:54:12 AM PDT by pistolpackinpapa

One Republican Congressman, whom I believe they said was from Arizona, just said the same thing I said after this Ruling:

"Today, the Supreme Court awakened a sleeping giant. This changes the Election drastically." This has so angered people and will cause many to realize, this is no small matter. This is no game. We MUST Elect Mitt Romney, and a GOP House and Senate on November 6, 2012 so this ObamaCare Mess, our new Tax the Supremes gave us today, can be repealed and totally dismantled.

I believe this "victory" for the Obama Thug Brigade in the White House, will be short-lived. This will fire up people who were somewhat lackadaisical about this Election. We have to get the Marxist out of the White House.

It ain't over Mr. President. WE'RE JUST GETTING WARMED UP!!!

Regretably, Romney is just about the last person in the world to remove Obamacare. He may say so now, or anything else that he thinks the voters would likek to hear, but his real feelings about single payer healthcare and abortion have already been made evident.

He can be counted on to be just about as reliable as Justice Roberts.

The GOP has absolutely screwed us, and left us with no real options in this coming election.

Will you Anybody-but-Romney folks still sit out the election or throw your vote away?

Nope. Not going to do either of your given options.

God Damn the Supreme Court of this land!!!

So many of us have put our faith in this, we thought, as the last bastion of American principles. This is the most revolting decision since the Dred Scot decision. This says to Obama that you can do anything that you want to this country and we (SCOTUS) will back you.

What a fucking crock of bull shit. God Damn them to hell for what they have done to this country.

It does not matter if Romney DOES bring Obamacare down.

No matter what happens to the Obamacare law, no matter what happens to Obama, the fact is, the Supreme Court of the United States of America said it was constitutional for force a person to purchase a product or service.

I'm very unhappy with Roberts, but as far as GWB being the worst Republican President, remember that his father gave us Souter, Eisenhower picked Earl Warren, Ford gave us Stevens, and Nixon put two liberals on the Court.

It's too soon for an overall judgment of Roberts, but this may be his Dred Scott case...the one case that history vilifies him for when everything else is forgotten.

Bullshit. All anyone is going to do is piss and moan over this, period.

Fixing this will never, EVER, happen at the ballot box. Look at the electorate, and then look at our “choices”.

Get used to this, it’s not going away until the federal government is physically dismantled.

It all goes back to Wickard v. Filburn
Laurence Silberman, the judicial conservative who wrote the majority opinion in the case, Seven-Sky v. Holder argued, the Supreme Court in 1942 opined that Congress has unlimited power to regulate people through the Commerce Clause. “This gets me to a point,” I wrote, “that has gotten too little attention in the coverage of the Obamacare litigation: the central importance of Wickard v. Filburn to the pro-mandate case.”
The court wrote:
“No Supreme Court case has ever held or implied that Congress’s Commerce Clause authority is limited to individuals who are presently engaging in an activity involving, or substantially affecting, interstate commerce,” it said.
This led the court to examine the text of the Constitution to determine whether it supported the challengers’ contention that there are limits on Congress’s commerce clause power…
“Regulate,” at the time of the Constitution’s adoption and now, “can mean to require action,” … Nor does “commerce” refer to only “existing commerce,” it said.
We are where we are today because of 75 years of tortured jurisprudence on the Commerce Clause. As a reminder, Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution grants Congress the power “to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes.”

Thanks to the Supreme Court, the Commerce Clause has been twisted beyond all recognition.

The last time I checked the democrats controlled the Senate...for that matter, they pretty much call the shots in the Republican held Congress, and we found out today that they own the Supreme Court. Now I’m supposed to believe that a rino from Massachusetts that has supported gay rights, abortion and government run healthcare is going to save us. People we had better demand a candidate..and not the lesser of two evils. ..and I don’t mean Ron Paul.

At least with the mandate of a federal database for all of our medical files, the court has now reversed the supposed “privacy” established with Roe.

That is some funny shit. Though I will probably vote for Romney just out of reflex, there is no reason for him to change the status quo.

And we will probably look forward to Romney giving us as at least two SCOTUS judges on par with Roberts.

The country is sliding away. It is really too late. Romney is not going to save The Republic.

Then please contact Jim Robinson and have him shut down this website, call Rush, Sean and Glen and tell them to go ahead of go off the air and let’s all just sit back and listen to Hard Rock music all the way to the abyss. Let’s just throw in the towel. Bend over for Obama and just pray that he will be merciful and use vaseline. Thanks for the encouragement LadyEleanor when we needed it the most.
