The America I was promised as a kid was just revoked. The America my father fought for was just destroyed.
My father chewed me out once when I told him I didn’t feel like voting in a rather dull local election. Dad told me that he and so many others fought to defend our freedom and to preserve the privilege of voting. When I don’t vote, I disrespect my father and all the others who served, particularly, those who died for our country.
Dad has passed on now. I wonder how he would feel about the dictator in the White House, those spineless wimps in Congress and the traitors on the Supreme Court.
