The Obama Record: As it becomes clear our "brilliant" president has failed to turn the economy around, a poll shows half of Americans want to know how he did in college.
Forty-nine percent of respondents to an exclusive IBD/TIPP survey say they agree that Obama "should release his academic records" before November. Only 28% strongly disagree. Seven percent answered "not sure."
Voters got a look at the college coursework and grades of President Bush, as well as Democratic challengers Al Gore and John Kerry. Obama, however, refuses to release his transcripts, despite media requests.
It's natural voters would now wonder about his academic performance. Other polls show they're increasingly unhappy with his job performance.
With signs the economy may be slipping back into recession, and the president's economic policies looking woefully ineffective, many voters are waking up to the notion he may not be nearly as smart as he's made out to be.
Obama's storied intellect simply isn't measuring up to the hype created by media sycophants like MSNBC's Chris Matthews, who's called him "very smart," or historians like Michael Beschloss, who said he's "probably the smartest guy ever to become president."
Coming into office on the heels of a tongue-tied predecessor, the well-spoken Obama was supposed to have all the answers. But it turns out he doesn't know any better. His bright ideas, from energy policy to health care and jobs, haven't worked...

Can somebody describe or direct me to a video where Bush was "tongue-tied?" I always found him plain spoken and blunt, which is refreshing from a politician. Maybe I just don't watch enough MSNBC?
Why go there? What does Obama have to do with Black American achievement?
His "folks" weren't field hands -- or even African-Americans. They were in the big house.
Wonder if he has shared them with his daughters? Surely, if Daddy is touted as the smartest man in America, those girls would be very curious to see how well he did. And proud to boast about it. Is he keeping his grades secret from them, too? Just wait until they start asking: What is my real heritage, Daddy - are we descended from a Kenyan? You used to say you were born in Kenya, then you said you were born in Hawaii...what is the truth, Daddy? What about the medical histories of our family that could affect our health? Who were our relatives, really? How did you get into Harvard? Etc,etc., etc. Hmmm?
I’d bet good money it’s not his grades that he most wants to hide. There is so far no evidence he really took classes at Columbia U. He did take some at Columbia’s extension program. And did he attend Occidental as a foreign student for some reason?
If he’s forced to submit his grades his friends @ Harvard and Justice Elena Kagan will make sure the grades are that of a genius.
That’s my take.
My guess is that his grades were mediocre at best, and then only because of affirmative action by lib professors, but the REAL reason he keeps them under wraps is that it identifies him as a foreign student. That could cause problems with his claim to be a Natural Born Citizen, or open him up to fraud charges for being admitted to college, and possibly receiving aid as a foreign student. Either way, he's screwed!
I don’t want to see his grades. I just want to know what nationality he claimed. I don’t think we’ll get either.

He will not release his records because 1.) They will show he was enrolled as a foreign student. And 2.) They will show that he had a much lower GPA than President Bush.
