Jackie Whiton, age 65, had worked as a cashier at the Big Apple convenience store in Peterborough, N.H., for years. But then a couple of weeks ago she committed a firing offense.
She refused to allow a welfare recipient to use his EBT card to buy a pack of smokes.
How dare a taxpayer say no to a member of the non-working class? This is verboten in Obamas America.
So she was fired. Thatll teach her. The gimme guy was a young man, about 20, and when he asked for cigarettes, Jackie Whiton handed them to him but asked for his ID. He handed her his EBT card.
I said to him, Do you think that the man in line behind you and the lady behind him want to buy you your cigarettes? And he said Yes. Then he said, Give me back my card. And I said, Give me back my cigarettes.
The kid left and the man behind him in line then told Jackie Whiton, You said just exactly what I was thinking.

And half the price of a pack of cigs is taxes, so they get a big chunk of the money back.
Soma: “A gramm is better than a damn.”
EBT: “A swipe is better than a gripe.”
The problem with that is it takes to long and some people can smoke 10 packs a day and still make it to 90 years old!!
Must be a better way.......
With some cards they can buy smokes and beer, read the story.
And I know this lady and she doesn’t take any crap.
I saw my share of C’s in training in 68 that had been in storage since WW2 also.
Makes one wonder exactly where we are heading in the country: cannot stop illegals from coming in, cannot deport them, cannot limit what goes out for food, cannot deny housing assistance and cannot force anyone to work.
We no longer have too few pulling the cart, the cart is now sliding backwards over the cliff.
It’s sad.
In better times, she’d leave a job like this and just go find another one.
In the Baraqqi Depression, losing any job is scary.
The only food aid that should be available is 3 MREs a day.
Because of automation there is a small percentage of the population that has nothing to offer the labor market. They can perform no task that can't be done cheaper and better with less hassle by machines. As automation increases this percentage will grow to 100% of the population someday. What we're witnessing is the beginning of that trend. Poor Americans starving is a thing of the past but we're pretty much stuck with more and more people permanently on food stamps.
The following DFA programs are eligible to receive benefits using EBT:
Rethink that one; the lung cancer kills slowly and Medicaid will pay for treatment all that time.
Cloward-Piven?
Obamas America = EBT
A big AMEN to that!
I stood in line, along with 5 other people while a 20-something and her Mama pulled out their EBT card and paid . . . $75.00 worth of chocolate candy.
When they left, everyone in the store had something to say and it was all negative.
we’re in the computer age that being said the cash register could be programed to kick out items when the card is used or swipe the card first and the item won’t ring up.

What angers me most about many welfare recipients is they always seem to buy prepared food. One would assume they have nothing to do, so why not buy cheaper food, fresh food, and prepare it themselves? Homeless aside of course. I particularly enjoy watching welfare shoppers buy packaged, prepared food. Then head for liquor dept. then stop at the Red Box for a movie. Life is great!
A common usage of the EBT card is to give it and the PIN number to the heroin dealer in exchange for product. The dealer then goes and gets all his steaks and lobster on it. He either gives it back or the user reports it stolen or lost and gets another.
I can also tell you that nearly every person I ever arrested that had an EBT card also had a casino card as well.
I don’t know about other places, but in Oklahoma it is illegal to buy cigarettes with those cards.
The only food aid that should be available is 3 MREs a day. Period. If its good enough for our troops its good enough for them.
GREAT IDEA!
Her manager called the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and was told that cigarettes and beer can be purchased with a cash (as opposed to a food) EBT card.
There are "cash" EBT cards! Special!
