This crud belonged to a very exclusive fraternity - he’s one of the few people the world is a better place without.

You must be a far more forgiving sort than am I...I think there are millions (if not billions) of people that the world would be a better place without.

I'll go a step further.....I'm glad he's dead and I hope his death was as unappealing and painful as his life apparently was....

If I ever come across any of his jibberish writings, I'll burn them....then I'll be the hero..

Our family went to a really nice exhibition of Sendak’s work 8 years ago, with kid friendly activities and such. You would never guess that such hate and bitterness lurked in that man’s head.

While he was obviously no saint and a lefty all his life, I assume that he got nastier and more viciously outspoken in advanced age. I know my Dad said horrible things in the last 10 years of his life that he did not say in his prime. Such lewdness, racism, anger and jealousy came out, as I had never heard before. It went along with a decline in ability to think due to congestive heart failure. If you judged him only by the rants of his later years, you would have missed his really important contributions to the world as a father, a builder, a naval officer, etc.

I’m going to assume Sendak’s mind was in steep decline.
