Federal officials said they’ll still perform the checks as required by law but will respond only when someone has a felony conviction on his or her record. Absent that, ICE will tell the local police to release the person.

So an illegal immigrant from Egypt or Iran with plans to bomb NYC can now walk into Arizona, get caught, and then get released to execute his bombing plans?

Interesting. Mohammed Attah did not have a felony conviction. He could stay under this plan. I really do think Obama wants to kill us.

The wording is curious only when someone has a felony conviction does that mean if someone is wanted as a suspect by law enforcement for a felony offense they will not cooperate with state or local officials because that person has not been convicted? What about suspected terrorists? This will get interesting at some point when the feds refuse to cooperate and bad things happen...

The local police should hold the person until ICE signs for them. Let the release responsibility be on the FedGov / Obama Administration’s head.

ICE is less than worthless.
