Im reliably informed that Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the Budget Committee chairman, has submitted paperwork to the Romney campaign. Sources confirm that he is being vetted for the vice-presidential nomination.
Ryan, one of the GOPs brightest young stars, is clearly a favorite of Romney allies. But some top Republican officials are wary of plucking him from the House, where he is the partys most influential voice on fiscal issues.
Earlier this week, Romney campaigned with Ryan in Janesville, Wis., Ryans hometown. Ryan previously stumped for Romney in late March and early April, ahead of Wisconsins Republican presidential primary.
Wisconsin Paul Ryan ping
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Rubio’s a turncoat.
His hair doesn’t hold a candle to his beautiful blue eyes (and I’m no 20 something bimbo).
Ryan should remain in the House and either be Speaker, or Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.
IMHO, Pawlenty certainly won’t excite the base and I doubt Ryan will either in spite of his fiscal acumen. They won’t play well in the south.
I am sure names will be leaked up to the convention...purposely.
I really like Paul Ryan, but we really need him in the House. The GOP “leadership” in the House of Representatives are a bunch of castrated cowards. Ryan is the only one of the bunch with some courage. We’d be wasting his talent making him Vice-President.
Ryan (if he would take the job) would be sorely missed in Congress by those of us who really love what he’s doing there. I don’t know if he would be a greater asset to conservatism as VP, or not - but let’s see what he says.
Well, like with Sarah Palin or Marco Rubio, i don’t want to see our rising stars pushed out front before they’re ready.
But, as for Paul Ryan, i like the cut of his jib!!
Shove it, clueless newbie.
Saw it too. Greatness! If only we had more that spoke like Lou Dobbs, instead of Rubio with his we are all human. Well, duh, just some don’t break the law over and over and over.
I think either you or Josh Mandel will be the VP pick...my darkhorse pick is Al Roker.
Ryan works for me ... really well.
I heard yesterday it was Pawlenty, though.
Definitely not Rubio this time... Romney doesn’t need the controversy.
Don’t worry about it. She’s still the most gorgeous woman on television. She’s in that awful show about the cranky female lab woman who does autopsies.
Not my fight, but what a rude pointless thing to say to someone who made a sensible remark.
And it really irks me when the first thing a poster does is look at a signup date and call someone newbie.
But what about his ideas? You know, the vision thing?
His ideas and his vision are the icing on the cake, or the meat of the argument, depending upon the metaphor you prefer. But, you can’t taste the icing until he grabs your attention with his good looks.
YOU should WHINE about what irks you when your support the defenseless being killed? Shut your trap, mittbot.
When you insult, instead of offering a counter argument, you appear base and desperate. Your point, no matter how valid, is disregarded by EVERY observer.
