what happens to him if he’s held in contempt?
The MSM outlets all create polls to show this is a terrible development for Republicans.
Year and a half later - not one person fired, demoted, etc.
FUBO!!!
FUEH!!!!
You're kidding, right?
Following a contempt citation, the person cited is arrested by the Sergeant-at-Arms for the House or Senate, brought to the floor of the chamber, held to answer charges by the presiding officer, and then subjected to punishment as the chamber may dictate (usually imprisonment for punishment reasons, imprisonment for coercive effect, or release from the contempt citation).
Imprisonment is usually for days like 10 or so.
what happens to him if hes held in contempt?
A) The media ignores it and doesn’t report it. Instead they run a breaking story about something Romney did in kindergarten or run more stories about Romneys wife riding horses.
B) (more likely) The media has a field day condemning Republicans for their racist attack against Holder.
Actually, I think this is just Issa's committee voting to recommend issuing a contempt citation. That then has to go to the floor of the House, where an actual House vote would take place.
Nothing of effect happens until the entire House votes on the matter.
