Hugely successful and often controversial, Glenn Beck is a man full of complexities.
He points the finger in his new book "Cowards" but calls for "Restoring Love" in his upcoming rally. He jokes about being "Unelectable" on his comedy tour, but his new studio in Dallas includes a replica Oval Office for his mock presidential addresses.
Now, the media mogul is dropping his name from the online TV network based on his personal brand. GBTV will be merged with TheBlaze.com, the Beck-owned but independently operated news and opinion website. The entire network will be called TheBlaze.
That all-star team includes some unlikely executives who have joined the Beck team. There's Betsy Morgan, formerly CEO of The Huffington Post and before that an executive at CBS News. There's Joel Cheatwood, formerly a senior vice president at CNN and Fox News. Also Kraig Kitchin, formerly founder of Premiere Radio Networks, and Carolyn Polke, who was a consultant at Accenture.
"Sometimes the truth hurts," said Beck. "And if you'd read the book 'Cowards,' you'd see President Obama is not the only one, and it's certainly not a Republican and Democrat book. It is a human problem. Cowardice is a human problem."
While Beck isn't outwardly supporting either of the two major candidates in the 2012 election, he does have a prediction.
"If things would remain stable, I would say we are looking at a loss for the president around the size of, if not greater than, Jimmy Carter," he said. "Americans are tired. They are tired of the finger-pointing. They are tired of the excuses. They're tired of it on both sides."

I know very few people who used to love him on FNC who now watch him via Roku. It's a shame he left "regular" TV, IMO.

True. The worst part is that he won’t be discovered by channel surfers.
On the plus side, he is protected from Soros-financed boycotts.
I wear a bullet proof vest. Am I a coward?
Hey, at least it wasn't a phony Greek forum.
Roku is a good alternative to cable. I watch Beck on it, and Roku has a lot of interesting channels.
There are a lot of cable channels not on the Roku, but it’s worth looking into as an alternative to paying those high cable bills for a lot of channels one does not watch.
I don’t always agree with Glenn Beck, but at least he is using his fortune to try to undo the damage caused by the propaganda media. I feel that his motives are right in exposing media lies and informing the public with the truth.
HOORAY Glenn Beck! Glenn Beck is OUTSTANDING! (as are the individuals who work with him)
I always confused GBTV with LGBT, when I glance at articles with those letters I had to read further to see if it was about Glen or Gays
>>uhh..they could have still shot him in the head ! that was silly<<
Dude, women are irrational sometimes.
He did it to please her. It’s not my marriage nor yours, it’s his.
I know tons of people who watch him.
Having the Roku and GBTV means you don’t have to watch him at five.
And you don’t need cable.
If you need help with the Roku, I could sell them. Just FReepmail me and I’ll help all I can.
I was watching when Beck announced Breitbart’s death.
He was as upset as I was. It’s wasn’t the drama queen act either.
Personally, I believe that the Big sites gave Beck all the info that they were planning to release on BO. Beck had the “vetting” that AB announced. Because the Big people knew the truth about AB’s “Natural Causes”. I think Beck came to the plate and volunteered to do it.
Who knows what goes on behind the scenes.
Thank you so much for your offer of help, netmilsmom!
"Buy Roku" is on my list... just haven't done it yet. It's been kind of a back-burner thing. Maybe within the next month or so.
GREAT tagline, by the way... ;-)
I do know you have to pay to subscribe to GBTV. Does it run LIVE 24/7, or does Glenn just do a couple of shows per day, and they re-run over and over? Can the Roku be used like a DVR, ie you can watch Glenn's show on it whenever?
Also I've heard you can get all kinds of movies and old TV shows via Netfix and Amazon.com Prime. How do you do this? I don't understand the specifics.
Thanks in advance. :o)
What IS the truth about Andrew's death? I've never heard a definitive answer.
I miss Andrew Breitbart SO much...
True. The worst part is that he wont be discovered by channel surfers.
Yup...
Also, who knows, he may have received a specific threat.
Once you subscribe to GBTV.com, you hook up your Roku and find the GBTV channel. You “add channel” and it will guide you through connecting your GBTV account to the Roku.
You basically just have to go to your computer and type in a code that the Roku displays on your TV.
It’s not 24/7, yet. But he just announced plans for 24/7 programming.
He is always selling something. I don’t care. It’s my prerogative whether or not to buy his products. I like his take on things.
With Netflix and Amazon it’s the same deal. If you have a Netflix account (with streaming) or Amazon account (don’t *have* to have Amazon Prime, but you get a lot of free content if you do), you add the channels, Roku displays a code and gives you a web site to go to, you go to your computer and access the web site, log into your Netflix/Amazon account and enter the code.
Somebody as smart as Beck should have seen that "GBTV" looks too much like "LGBT", and people viewing cable TV listings with their remotes in their hands aren't going to click on anything that looks like the faggot channel. And sorry, but "The Blaze" sounds homo to me too (shrug).
Great idea, Glenn, but come up with a better name. Good luck, and I'll be watching.
It seems you got a great explanation. If you need any more help, shout out! We are here to help
